Stick to the plan, use the potion.

You have had enough variance from your plan for one day, you aren’t going to take any chances. You steel yourself and nod to James. When you look back to your new bride she is looking at you intently.

“You were saying, my love?” You ask.

She takes your hands in hers. “I’m just so excited that you came for me. I worked so hard to win the contest. That damn Kimberly had a whole medley from “Phantom of the Opera” with candles and everything, you know how the judges love that crap. But I couldn’t lose again, not after last year. Just seeing your freeze ray, I knew you were the man for me.”

James brought the Champaign, set the glasses down. She stood up, led you to your feet. You noticed her checking her watch, but she quickly looked back up.

“No matter what happens, I want you to know that the two of us will always be together. I'll never leave you."

She looks so genuine, so happy. She leans in and kisses you. You think twice, maybe the potion is a bad idea, maybe this really could work. Her lips are so soft, so nice against yours. You make up your mind, no potion, not for her, not for someone who truly loves you.

The kiss breaks and a glass is in your hands.

“To us!” she says, touching her glass to yours, you start to reach for her but she downs her glass in one go. You stand, frozen for a second. Too late. The moment is passed, she already drank it.

“Come on love, it’s bad luck if you don’t drink too.” She says.

You raise the glass to your lips, start to drink, she tips it a bit further and you drink the whole glass. You don’t usually drink ****, you prefer your diet soda, but this one tastes alright, even if the bubbles make you cough after you swallow. The warmth starts to spread immediately, you feel tingly and giddy.

“You didn’t need to try and **** me, you know.” Your beloved says. “But it might be for the best. I assume the effects will include loyalty, and I could really use that.”

Standing here now, you realize that she's the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. More beautiful than the screams of terrified citizens, more beautiful than a hyper-sonic, radar-proof helicopter with **** lasers. She’s the most perfect and wonderful creature you have ever laid eyes on.

“You, you switched the drinks.” You say, reading the symptoms of your own body and thoughts.

“Of course I did.” She says back with a glare. “You think I would be fooled by such an obvious plot? You should have used it on the platform, aerosolized it and had it in the gas mask.”

She’s right, you realize. That would have been the smarter course, you could have added an anti-nausea formula to it as well, just to be safe. You look in her eyes, your brilliant, gorgeous bride. You must be the luckiest man in the world. You see her grimace and rub her temples.

“You’re so damn brilliant with your machines, and so dense in other ways. . .”

A compliment, a real compliment from the love of your life. You can’t help it, you are overwhelmed, you drop to one knee, take her hand and kiss it. She smirks down at you as you do.

“Swear yourself to me.” She says, looking you in the eye.

“I swear it!” You say quickly, enthusiastically.

“Tell your butler who the new master of the house is.” She demands.

“It’s you my love, it’s only you!” You answer.

“James?” She says.

“I’ll need full authorization sir, before command can be transferred.” Your butler responds. A simple barrier, one small speedbump before everything is right.

“Authorization 636ZarkonForever17Destruct.” You say.

James nods. “Command transfer complete.”
