Chapter 5

What now?
Stay back and quiet
Jessica stayed on the ground as she watched the hunter approach the downed beast, rent open by his whip. With a smart snap and quick flick of the wrist his cane regained its rigid form. He then pressed the tip through skull of the beast with a wet crunch, testing his healed arm. "Good" he said aloud to no one. He grabbed a strong bottle of whisky on his way out.
"Thank you my lass" he said aloud, to Jessica now, "best of luck to you tonight, you ought get home and lock the door fast." he said as he stuffed a rag into the bottle. "Light this and throw it at any beastie you see. The fire may save your life." He dropped a lighter onto the table before making for the door.
And with that the strange hunter left her pub with a light tap tapping as his cane rapped against the ground disappearing into gathering mist of the evening.
Jessica shook with adrenaline and cold as the once hot blood quickly became cold exposed to the hot air. The blood tickled and swarmed on her skin, making her feel hot and flustered. Her clothes sticky and damp causing her nipples to rise against the fabric. Trembling she grabbed the bottle and lighter and stepped out of the pub. Alone against the night.
Where does she go?
