Stay The Course

No way are you gonna botch this class over some whim, you reach for the bone marrow, measuring out exactly one table spoon.

You can see the concoction changing colors from the introduction of the marrow, the liquid turning from green to orange to red.

Your partner seems visibly disappointed but doesn’t say anything as she tucks the twig back into her robes.

You stir the mixture under the professors orders, watching it swirl and bubble as it boils within the cauldron.

“Alright students, that’s enough mixing, empty the contents of your cauldron into a bottle”

You do as told, picking out a bottle that looks somewhat similar to the one shown in the sketch on the board before draining the cauldron into the bottle.

Swishing around the liquid you see the potion repair a small scratch that had been left on the bottles side.

The idea that this potion could repair inanimate objects as well as your corporal form if fascinating, you didn’t think potions could impact objects.

The Professor slowly walks among the workstations examining the potions produced before pointing out their flaws.

“You didn’t add enough bone marrow to this potion… I wouldn’t recommend using it…”

“Next time try to add less fairies blood”

“You’ve…. I’m sure you can see where you’ve gone wrong….”

Finally she reaches your station, she stares into the contents before flicking the side of the bottle.

“Well done, that potion very well might save a life one day” she says before moving on, your partner is bummed out but seems content to take the passing grade for the time being.

When class ends Kora turns to you “You can keep the potion, I’ve no need for it…” she says slightly dejected.

“Alright… but you’re glad we got a passing grade, right?” You say looking to make her feel better.

“Meh…. I guess so… see you around, I have some preparations to make…” and with that she departs.
