Start cleaning

You jump to your feet. Might as well make this place liveable. You first order of business is creeping back downstairs as quietly as possible to find a mop, a bucket, and some rags. You spend the rest of the afternoon cleaning and sorting out the room. By the time evening falls the plan his organised and liveable to a degree that you can be happy with. There is no real room to put any of your clothes so you have to improvise a storage box for them from what is already there. The shelves of books and clutter are cleared and cleaned of any dust. The cobwebs that clung toe the rafters are all gone and the ceiling beams and wooden floor is cleaned of the muck and dirt. The mop is grey with dust. The windows are now clean enough to let in the moonlight of the evening, having to open it to let in some fresh air. You are most thankful that the dust is gone from the room.

It's late... It seems like you've been cleaning for a while shortly after. Got as much done as your could for tonight. Hopefully, you have enough time to finish the rest of the room soon. You let out a sigh as you collapse on the bed. You wipe your forehead as you hear footsteps coming up the stairs. Connie comes back up the stairs to hand over some blankets and sheets for your bed. She looks over the room with a surprised look and focuses on you in the centre. "What the heck? I heard you making all sorts of noise up here but I didn't think you were cleaning." Connie says. "Actually, the place doesn't look too bad. Though it's only natural you'd want to keep your room tidy. Why don't you go to bed for tonight? You don't have anything better to be doing, right? I'm going to close up shop and get out of here myself. I won't be the one looking after you if you get sick from staying up too late, you got that?"

You simply nod and she turns to leave. "Oh, there is a shower in the back room. It's not much but it works."

"Thank you for telling me."

She nods and disappears down the stairs. You let out an audible sigh before you fall back on the bed, resting an arm across your forehead. You take out your phone with the other. Your thumb clicks on your messages app and calls up the last message.

MOM: Just remember, I love you.

You don't even know anything about Prism, you should look it up a little. You find a website on the school, looking through all the awards it has won for academics and sports. It's a rather prestige college prep high school. They have a successful soccer team. Gymnastics.... You yawn softly and close the app. You slide the phone back into your pocket. This... wouldn't be too bad. It's a small neighbourhood, and the people seemed friendly enough. You're really tired... Hm?
