Start Fresh

“You’re probably right. I’m exhausted.”

“Funny, in here there are no windows. I don’t even know what time it is, but it feels late.”

After a bit more small talk, Jerry notices Barb is asleep. She soon drifts off as well.

Jerry wakes up slowly. She feels for her favorite pillow. Reality crashes down on her. She looks over at Barb, who is still asleep. She sits up contemplating escape.

Barb stirs. A deep disembodied voice growls. “Barb, time for class.”

Barb awakens with a start.

Jerry looks at her. “I guess you have a class.”

Barb blushes. “Yeah.”

“Who is your Professor?”

Barb looks at her quizzically. “Did little miss escapy enroll in a class?”

Jerry blushes. “Two actually.”

Barb looks around. “I think I need to go. My Professor is Professor Card. He is so hot. I’ll catch up to you and we’ll find a way out of this.”

Barb walks out of the room. Jerry sits quietly.

Another disembodied voice, feminine and dripping with sex appeal, purs. “Jerry, time for class.”

Jerry wonders where the class is and should she even go.
