Speak with Barkis.

"Lord Drev Barkis. Chairman of the Circle," you begin. "We've been through a lot, and I think we'd like to have a much more important conversation this time around."

The old man lets out a long sigh. After a lengthy moment of silence which begins to feel like an eternity, he looks to his maid to speak. "Please bring enough chairs for all here to sit, if you may."

"Right away, Myaster!" The cat salutes before hurrying back through the door.

It only takes a few minutes for everybody to be seated. Barkis continues to remain at his desk, while you, Eva, Amara, Niki, and Vivi sit opposite of him. The maid reminds near the door at all times as well. Then finally, you're face to face with one of the most powerful mages in Absoterra, or at least of the ones you know. If you remember correctly, he was said to be nineteenth level. That was from his own lips, so you have no way to know how true it is, though he does have quite a presence about him.

And he's the one to speak first. "How is your blade?" he asks.

"Lauo? It's great. I appreciate you identifying it back then, and helping with the exploration of my mind."

"Not only are you a man they call Demon King, but unknown to most, you're living proof of Isekai Theory, Kyle Warren. It was truthfully an honour to be able to peer into your mind, even if it was a strange, uncertain place. You're a strange one, even beyond where you're from."

"I'll tell you all I know of Earth if you tell us all we'd like to know in return."

A smile lifts up the wrinkles of his face. "An interesting trade. What do you wish to know?"

"First, Eva. Somebody quite powerful spoke of her blood as if it were mixed with something else. We'd like to find her father, and since you're both Chairmen of the Circle, we were hoping you'd know how to contact him."

"I see." Once again, he strokes his beard in thought. "This is awkward indeed. Your father would in fact be better at explaining this than I."

"... Wait, you know?!" Eva stands up from her chair. "Then tell me!"

"Ah, like I said, your father--"

"Screw that. If you know, tell me!"

"Eva." You raise a hand towards her and try to calm her back down. "We'll find out. I promise."

Barkis swallows hard. "Yes. Well, the truth is that the Chairmen often know little of what the others are doing, or where they are. We mind our own business. Some less than others. That being said, I can in fact put you in contact with your father, little Eva. I would explain it to you myself if this wasn't the case."

With a sigh, Eva sits back down and nods.

The old man retrieves an orb from under his desk. He places it down, and despite its perfectly smooth, spherical shape, it doesn't roll away. Instead it stands in place and swirls with an internal cloud of smoke and fire. An energy pulses within. To watch it is almost hypnotic in its beauty, but as Barkis places his fingertips upon it, the shapes inside twist and shape so quickly that it becomes nothing but a blur. Deep, strange words come from his lips in an arcane chant. Magic radiates from his body and he expends his mana to conjure up some manner of sorcery. Then, a voice.

"Drev, what do you need?" it says.

"I'm glad to have caught you home," Barkis says. "Rada. I have somebody here who wishes to speak with you about something important, and I won't allow you to flee."

"What do you mean?" Then as the shape settles inside, and the old man twists the orb around, there seems to be a personal standing inside. It's only their head and shoulders, but the man is unmistakably Eva's father--long lavender hair, short beard, tall ears, middle-aged. While Eva squirms at the awkwardness of the sudden meeting, it's him who appears more uncomfortable. "Ah. I see. Hello, my daughter."

"... Hello, dad," Eva says. Though things aren't nearly as bad as they used to be, there's definitely some discomfort between them still. "Who was my mother?"

Shocked by this question, Rada clears his throat. "Sweetie, you know who she--"

"No more lies," Barkis says from above.

"This is none of your concern."

Everything on the desk shudders as you stand to slam your hand upon it. You stare close into the orb and speak quietly. "No. But it's Eva's concern."

"Warren, I--" He looks between the two of you and sighs. "This is not quite what I expected to do this afternoon."
