Chapter 6 by The Dark Traveler The Dark Traveler

Where to

South East

Author's note: not much sex of a while due to world building and character development

You decide to confront your father travelling to his castle. On your way, you discover both wonders and horrors of the world outside the walls of your home. The ordinary people are very poor, struggle to live each day and are defenceless from attack. There are many people who have decided to take up arms and try their luck; fame, fortune and possibly royalty is obtainable for anyone if they can but become a successful knight. But poor farmers are not trained like you and obtain good weapons like you. You feel sorry for the ones your mother tricked and robbed of their chance. This makes your goal all the more clear.

Dragons do not need as much gold as the kings and lords of these lands give them but humans don't seem to know what else to give them. It is true that a dragon likes to sleep on a pile of gold and gems but the pile only has to be as big as the dragon and dragons would prefer a variety of metals and gemstones. At least according to my mother. The excess gold could go to the people and without the unrealistic goal of slaying a dragon, those who did take up arms would fine more achievable reward defending those who couldn't defend themselves.

You trudge South East towards your father's castle. On the way you defend a village from some human bandits and save a town mayor's wife who had been kidnapped by goblins. Thanks to your mother's training and unusual extra limbs you found this easy. Because you killed your opponents out of view of the people your secret dragon heritage stayed a mystery. By the time you reached the king you had a reputation as a skilled if mysterious worrier. There were rumours based on the quality of your training and equipment and your outward appearance (at least what people got to see) that you might be the kings bastard with some high born lady. This was close to true but you tried to quell the rummers any chance you got. Eventually, you reach the king's castle.

What happens at the castle
