Is it a challenge?
Sounds like a challenge to me
You grin with anticipation. You need to demonstrate to Evey that it can always get worse.
"Challenge accepted"
"It wasn't a challenge you cretin", Evellyn groans.
"What's the matter, Evey? I thought you didn't get bothered by this stuff anymore. What are you so afraid of?"
You can practically hear the gears turning inside Evellyn's head. On the one hand, she could simply acquiesce and preserve her dignity (assuming she had any left). On the other hand, her noble pride no doubt insists that she not back down from a challenge. You examine her face as pride and dignity clash; seldom are the two qualities opposed, especially for a noble woman.
Evellyn huffs. "Do your worst. I'm not afraid of you". Pride it is then.
And now for the fall.
