Something you had not expected.

The shops are heaving and half the police **** is trying to keep things under control around the area of the mega mart it seems, the fast food places are for some reason doing a brisk trade which you do not get, other stores are closed and you wonder what has happened. Pulling over to check the alerts you had set up and you find the answer the Governor has made a statement and the President is to address the nation in around an hour looks like they have come clean you think.

Just as you decide to head home you see West camping and hunting is open and think what the hell, Mr Wests son is a firefighter paramedic so he should be busy, that only leaves his wife you think but why she has opened the store on her own is crazy in your eyes. Heading on over and not surprisingly finding the place heaving what is a surprise is the two women manning the counter serving everyone, recognising one as Mrs West the other you do not know or place straight away.

Both women are serving as fast as possible as a lot of the people want ammo, ration packs and all manner of survival or camping gear as you can bet a number of them are planning to bug out asap. It is then the other woman's face clicks names go through your head till finally Jessica pops into it and Mrs West or Holly as she always told you to call her has noticed you not buying anything and just staring has moved her hand to what you can only assume is some sort of firearm or alarm. Not sure what to do or say you decide to just walk slowly to the side of the counter and offer you condolences about Mr West, when Holly realises you are not trying to steel anything she relaxes. Leaving the store you spot Bro's drive through is still open and the que is not that long so you drive over and order something for while you wait.

The strangest thing is the centre of town is deserted after only another forty five minutes and wonder if you missed a curfew or something as you see all the shops just shut one after another, in reality it is just people want off the streets as it is getting late, it seems the freaks do not like the sunlight and it is getting dark soon and people have been warned not to be out after dark now. Pulling round the back of the store again you hit the buzzer and the shutter goes up a minute later with Holly standing there, " oh good right on time the last customer just left so I have locked up for today at least. Sighing you say yeah, " I was coming round back when I found Mr Cavalli out front and called the cops his wife Racheal was running for her life from a freak when she saw the door going up and ran over, Mr West got a few shoots off but not enough to stop the freak and the rest you know". Nodding she has a tear in her eye, " its what the police said, stupid thing was he had load with only normal rounds if he had put some of these in he would still be here". Loading the things into the SUV Mr West must have rung it up for you last night and added somethings as you do not remember some of the things you are putting in the back. Locking up Holly asks you to sign one last thing as she lowers the shutter and you get ready to hope under when a crash comes from the front of the store.
