Something entirely unexpected...

Auditory Atmosphere Supplement Activated. Now Playing: Horizon Zero Dawn - The Bad News

As the light around John died down, he instantly noticed that something was not right. Something felt really weird, like he suddenly felt a lot lighter, and his perception felt… lower.

Peering down on his body, he saw that it wasn’t really his body. He was seeing a female body, clad in soft brown leather clothes with bits of machinery here and there. It was dawning on John what was happening…

Reaching to his back, he immediately felt the weight of a bow of some sort there, along with a quiver.

If his theory was correct, then… yup, totally… He had pulled some of his hair from behind his head in front of his eyes and saw that it was ginger red.

Loudly groaning, he came to a conclusion: The Barrier had made him Aloy. That was not the plan! His plan was to get it on with Aloy who he’d ‘accidentally’ find in the area and help in some fight… Now that he was Aloy, that threw a major wrench into most of his plans… Actually, it would throw a wrench into all of his plans, if this was permanent…

Fearing the worst, John immediately tried to use Leave Barrier to go back to the Nexus. When nothing happened, his blood ran a bit colder.

Okay, this was bad, really bad… How could he deal with this.

Other than him, Thorn and Gary seemed to be doing fine; they didn’t even appear to notice any change in John… Well, at least his little guys were loyal and no horndogs.

Looking back in front of him, John saw that he was indeed in Horizon: Zero Dawn. In between the lush greenery of the trees around him, he could see the lurking presence of a Sabertooth behind some clearing.

So, no matter what the body, and no matter where, danger was always lurking around the corner…
