Something Inside

There's nothing you can see other than twigs and branches. Maybe against a person one of the larger branches could make an improvised bludgeon but you know that they would be useless against your opponent.

But you still grab one. It feels futile against the thing you find yourself standing in front of. You hold it out in front of you as if it were an actual weapon, as if any part of you actually knew what you were doing. The wolf woman grins.

"This will be over quickly then." She lunges at you as she finishes her sentence.

You've never actually been in a fight. You try to keep in shape and there were a couple of times you got into what you could call a physical altercation but nothing you would call a proper fight.

And yet as the beastly woman leaps towards you something happens. Your body seems to move on its own, weaving just out of the way of her claws as you swing the branch with an almost inhuman level of force into her face. The branch explodes into splinters as she's knocked away.

She stands up and looks at you - unharmed but even in her feral eyes you see confusion. You can't blame her, you're no less surprised yourself. But you don't have time to think about that right now.
