Some thoughts and Ending, maybe

Hi, it's me again.

After a while and some research on the Renaissance era/old Europe, as well as trying to find a satisfying end as to what happens to Ferdinand Castellan and Kassandra Ohne Gnade, I've daydreamed for a few weeks as a means to pass the time, and Burning of Prosperia seems to just be that "What If I actually developed that world more" idea of mine after thinking of similar worlds with different cultures, races, and species relations - all of them, one way or another, wanting to commit genocide or enslave others. Basically, racism is a major theme in my fantasy worlds because why not.

What I had in mind is something special for Ferdinand himself, and a less happy faith for Kassandra and the Landsknechts in general.

Let me try to provide some context too, or provide some new information on the old world and why the 182nd exists, why they have a hatred of the elves, as well as why they're allied with the Orcs.

So as mentioned in the previous page, the 100 Years War devastated many races to the point of near extinction or major de-population. Kassandra and Ferdinand know one another, because they fought with one another as child soldiers, alongside Diepkutter before he was a Warchief.

Those that were too traumatized and adapted too much to the horrors of war, even relishing in it and partaking in the masochism of the flesh, joined the Landsknecht regiments who only fight as a way to sate their bloodlust. They're known in the 182nd as "their favorite psychopaths," with only a short leash by a strong leader, commonly referred to as their master, holding them back.

One such strong leader is Ferdinand Castellan himself who, after the **** of their sergeant-at-arms, inspired not only the continuous will to live that the fatigued soldiers - both young and old - were losing, but to hold long enough for Diepkutter the Warrior and his tribe to come to their aid. It was then suggested to their colonel that Ferdinand be promoted, while still being 12 to 13 years old.

Kassandra was not as lucky meanwhile, and her pained cries at what she had to endure quickly numbed her until she started to enjoy it, along with a few others, who were immediately transferred to Landsknecht battalions.

Now while in our timeline, Landsknechts are Swiss mercenaries who were prolific at pike-and-shot warfare, Landsknechts in this world refer to shocktroops who would be ordered to outflank the enemy and charge headlong into these forlorn hope battalions, tasked with exploiting any gaps that were so crucial during pike-to-pike warfare, armed with swords and axes rather than pikes or lances.

It was not expected that they would return back alive, but either through bloodlust, strength, strength of will, or plot armor, the 182nd's Landsknecht Battalions have a massive survivability rate, which explains why the Brigands in the story being so dangerous.

Oh yeah, almost forgot and now the pacing is wrong.

The regiment would belong to a former multinational kingdom, think Austria-Hungary if it was successful instead of the more appropriate Holy Roman Empire. I needed their unity to explain why the 182nd doesn't turn on one another, or backstab Ferdinand in favor of their countryman or fellow national.

That would also explain how they all have a common language, though in my head, they would all have their own marching music.

Have I be actually talented, I'd write the lyrics using the instrumental versions, but the last times I've tried, they all sound terrible.

Don't ask why the Spanish are also in the Austro-Hungarian Empire... Fantasy Habsburg Monarchy... sure, let's go with that.

Get to the ending, dumbass!

Alright, here I go.

After the sacking of Prosperia, I kinda want Ferdinand to wake up one day and look at the castle that he sacked. How he thought that the Elves were losing their combat prowess and technological advancements in a fight, at least temporarily, and that he would do the same to surrounding fortresses, castle towns, or even kingdoms.

I also may want to imply that he's asexual, hence why he's not taking part of any of the rapes, with his relationship with Kassandra being more of a big brother to a very fucked up little sister - and being one of the few people she actually cares about anymore.

Meeting with Diepkutter and the veterans of the 182nd, both young and old, he asks if they would support the formation of a Confederation of small kingdoms that would go against other Elven Kingdoms and Elven-aligned Human kingdoms.

As a means to provide the war effort, skilled elves would be turned into slaves and **** to work in the fields, manifest weapons, and even provide medical assistance with a watchful eye.

Those who could not do would either be sent to breeding pits or sold in the **** markets, providing a small economy to the newly established "Prosperia Canton."

Unanimously, they all agreed and the 182nd, with Diepkutter's tribe, would march to "liberate" their neighbors and elevating humans, whether or not they were being repressed or treated like an equal by the local elves.

Opposition after opposition, be it elven or human, the tired Brigands and orcs finally get recognized by more powerful nationstates which both provided them the status of becoming a protectorate or dominion that share their views of both the elves and the orcs.

Ferdinand is crowned a Duke and given authority over a small castle town, with the castle proper being called "Chateau de Castellan" and even given a wife. The soldiers of the 182nd, those who survived the fighting, would be told to retire and even given residences in this castle town, but the years of fighting and not knowing anything else, would **** them to keep on going as mercenaries.

Kassandra herself would never be seen again as her Landsknecht detachment was sent to reinforce a collapsing regiment. Artillery and magic practically cemented that nobody would escape that area until the brigands surrender it to the enemy.

So yeah.

A huge part of the style of government would be inspired by Switzerland, which was also a confederation made up of cantons that had a feared and sought-after fighting **** while also having a more multi-ethnic population (Swiss-Germans, Swiss-French, Swiss-Italians, Swiss-Austrians, and what have you) that fought in many battles and wars until they were left alone by the rest of the world.

Don't know if this was satisfying, and admittedly, this is the longest chapter that I have written in a while. But if I was ever to come back to Prosperia and turn it into a proper novel one day, I suppose I have Past-Me to thank as to what the end goal was.
