Do they do anything else for the night?
Some... dinner, and then bed!
Once we were clean, we decided to raid the castle's pantry, and I attempted to cook a meal for my Master... the key word being "attempted." "...my apologies, Master," I grimaced as I looked at the overcooked mess we had to eat tonight. "I haven't had any practice preparing food... my family always said that was for the servants to do..."
He grimaced as well. "...well, it's not particularly appetizing, but it should still be edible at least. Besides, better undercooked than overcooked, I think," he remarked.
I nodded, and we ate together, forcing down the meal. It at least didn't taste TOO bad, but it was dry, and a bit tough to chew. "I'm going to need a lot more practice," I admitted with shame. I hated letting Master down like this..."
He patted my head again. "Don't worry. I'm not exactly a wizard in the kitchen myself, but I can teach you some basics. And I'm sure the castle library has some cook books you can access. We'll manage until you get good at this..."
I brightened, glad he wasn't angry with me. "Yes, Master! I swear, I'll become a master cook for you before long!" I gushed. He chuckled.
After dinner, or what passed for it at any rate, we put our dishes in the sink, and headed back to the bedroom. Sadly, Master didn't have his way with me again, but... simply cuddling with him through the night was almost as good, and we were soon fast asleep.
