Chapter 6 by takacube takacube

What's in a color?

Soft red or pink, definitely

Jim paused as he lifted the bag up from the chair next to him, figuring that the rest of the trip would be easier now that the final documents had been signed and the rest of the team had gone back to the hotel to get ready for the flight home. A part of him wondered about the need for him to have even been there, as Justin and Terrell had done the solemn majority of the discussions, but as he had looked around and saw the younger executives on the opposite end doing the same while the older men sat there, stoic, he got the impression that it was something that was to be expected. At least for him, though, it gave him time to observe the people in the room and to take notice of the various assistants standing behind the men and seated in discrete places with information and folders for presentation.

Jim needed to get laid, he figured, as most of his attention had been on the women in the room.

In particular, while there was no standard uniform, there was a common pattern of softer blues and whites among the women seated, including the more senior women who actively strode in and out of the meeting to hand-deliver documents. Even the one that had greeted them every morning and seen them off every afternoon wore blue, though it was much lighter and softer in tone, very form-fitting and it only complimented her physical appearance. Justin joked that it was time to let his inner weeb on one of these girls but Jim, as the more senior, just rolled his eyes and pointed the man towards the bathroom. Terrell made a crack about being whipped before he, too, joined his friend in the bathroom.

During a momentary smoke break, he had pulled out the questionnaire and turned to the next question on the list.

4.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WHAT WOULD BE YOUR FAVORITE COLOR?

Jim wondered about that. With a sister, he had noticed her color preferences changing once she hit the Twilight is legion phase of her life and all of her formerly favorite colors disappeared in a morass of black and pre-teen angst. While he wasn't a rainbow of color, he still loved having some sort of array of options in his life. With that, he picked up his pen and jotted down his response. I would love softer colors, like red and pink would be my favorites, but would not be locked into any particular one. Jim shrugged as his shirt color blended in to match the pink tie, a sort of last-minute gift from his wife that she had picked up moments before he had left for the airport. He couldn't figure out why he had resisted that at first.

"...So, the last bit of documents were received and we're just going to be in a process of finalizing the deal on our end."

Jim loosened the tie as he turned to face the monitor on the screen. "Do you need us to stay here for that?"

"No, we're calling back Justin and Terrell, they don't have the necessary clearance for this. I've made arrangements to have you stay in the Tokyo area for the next few days, just until we get the final signatures. Once that happens, we'll be good to go." The man turned for a second before he looked back at Jim. "It's a B&B, located in a section of Tokyo that I think you'll like."

"Not bad. Don't let the kids see this, can't imagine how much they'll bitch over it." He laughed a little before nodding. "I'll check in with you tomorrow."

After turning the monitor off, he picked up the glass of gin, finished the drink in a gulp, before looking back at the papers and the materials next to the bed. Figuring he had some time to pack later in the morning, he turned instead to the questionnaire and looked at the next question.

5.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WHAT COLOR WOULD YOUR HAIR BE?

What's next?

More fun
