Straight is impressive

Jim finished packing up the briefing materials that were arrayed in front of him.

The meeting had been a big success, though he wondered in part if it was really necessary to have such a large gathering of executives for something that was merely a formality at this point, especially given that he was, although a junior vice-president, he was still a junior executive compared to the caliber of titles gathered on the opposite side of the table. He also noticed that the majority of the people were older men, something he was accustomed to seeing only in rare circumstances, but figured that he was in Japan and they did things differently.

"Good job, that was a bizarre one," the younger associate, Justin, mentioned and Jim nodded, folding the rest of the binders carefully and then zipped up the bag. "God, can't wait until I hit the pool at the hotel."

He laughed at that before turning and after picking up the last of the materials, walked out of the meeting room where the assistant charged with being their guide in the building stood. She was impeccably dressed, business suit was a perfect fit, makeup done tastefully, hair styled neatly, youthful looking but not too young...they had really hit their mark on this hire. She bowed slightly as they approached and then ushered them to the elevator lobby. All the while down, he kept looking at her, namely her hair and the way she was dressed, but it was easily played off as curiosity more than being a morbid pervert of some sort and by the time they reached the ground floor, Justin was yammering away with the younger associate, Terrell, about some bar he found in Shibuya. Jim just waved off the invitation, citing the desire to get some rest, and with the two younger men leaving in one taxi, he walked over to the driver who had picked him up that morning and hopped in the back.

3.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WOULD YOUR HAIR BE STRAIGHT OR CURLY?

He thought about that but his mind kept coming back to the woman from earlier, how long hair made her seem much younger and accentuated a girlish nature to her, something that his wife didn't have with her short curly hair. He had bemoaned it internally when she cropped it one day, declaring it a liberation of sorts (coincidentally tied to the same time when their sex life started going south.) Growing up, he always liked girls with long hair and couldn't come to understand why a girl would cut her hair short or style it short, especially when it made them look so much better.

...he doubted seriously she would look any better with short hair, or curly hair. With that, he clicked his pen and jotted down his answer. I would have it straight with the option to style it with some curls, but straight would be its natural form. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, not noticing how its slightly gray and sandy blonde hair slowly started getting deeper and darker color at the roots, its texture changing under his fingertips as he brushed it. Jim just put it to exhaustion at the sensation and closed his eyes.

"...We have two more days of meetings to go, though I think with today being the major push and sell day, it'll be easy enough." Jim listened to the reaction from his boss on the opposite end and smiled. "I'll be sure to pass the message along to Justin."

With the call ended, he closed the tablet and placed it back on the table before he leaned back in the chair and looked at the spread of the city below his window. A perk of being a foreign business executive was the comfort and layout of the hotel suite, a bit overkill but he took it all the same. Justin had grumbled about being in a small regular room but the 25 year-old fresh out of MBA school had to learn the ropes, suffering on a business trip was one of them. "Rank has its privileges", he mused bitterly and Jim just shook his head and laughed a bit.

He stretched before slipping off the soft pink hotel robe and slipped under the covers, pausing to read the next question on the questionnaire before turning off the light.
