"My name is Mary and i have been sent from social services to check on a report of an abandoned child" she said, the next hour was incredibly humiliating for Kate as the woman explained basic child caring to her only after going over all the things wrong with leaving a child alone at that age, when she was finally done she went over what was going to happen next which caught Lara's attention the most as the woman having checked the records before coming told them when she gets back to the office she would correct the obviously incorrect age on file making Lara legally eight years old and finally as standard procedure after calls like this arrange weekly visits from a case worker.

Kate was take back by those last two statements, the case worker wouldn't be too big a deal although Lara would have to remain a child while they were ongoing but changing her age would be a much more long term problem, Lara was suppose to start collage soon but if the records got changed that would be impossible, should i come clean now would they even believe me Kate started thinking and what would be best for Lara, she had always been so scared of ending up as a laboratory experiment and now here i am thinking of telling a government worker.

Looking over at Lara who quickly caught her eye as she was obviously following the conversation Kate wasn't surprised to see Lara....
