Chapter 19 by brevdravis brevdravis

A quick walk through a parking garage

So glad I took a Cab.

"So what did you think of this year's shindig?" I asked, trying to not to focus I was just walking out of a restaurant and heading to a gorgeous blonde's apartment.

"I'm leaving early," Kaila rolled her eyes, "That answers that one pretty well. "

"Ouch. That bad, huh?"

We exited the restaurant and stepped into chill of the late autumn evening. The Hawaiian shirt that was part of my cosplay didn't help much, and I felt my arms come about myself almost involuntarily. Kaila noted my sudden shiver, and laughed.

"Shoulda brought the funeral sweater." She giggled.

"I... how did you know I had one of those?" I boggled at her. "Which way's your car?"

"Oh come on, you show up dressed as Wash, and you don't have a sweater? No chance." Kaila smiled, "Don't want me to see yours, huh?"

"No, I took a cab and am proceeding to freeze."

"Wait. A cab. An ACTUAL Cab. " Kaila groaned at me. "I'm in the garage. Bout a two block walk."

"Can we walk fast?" I grimaced.

"Well at least you bought a girl a drink first, and dinner..." She snaked her arm into mine and began tugging me in a direction I recognized as leading to the parking garage attached to the local mall.

This had to be a dream. Here I was with an incredibly gorgeous woman, her lush body pressed up against me, and she was making sex jokes.

"Dear Penthouse Letters..." I mumbled.

"Oh dear, do I have to give you an eye condition now so everything looks appropriately vasolined?" Kaila snickered. "Sorry, I don't have four hot room mates and we're not getting together for a sex toy party."

"Damn, there went my plans for the evening," I replied as we entered the small vestibule which held the elevator. I pressed the button for up, since it was the only one present, and leaned back against the chill concrete. For a moment, the sensation of the chill concrete caused a slight shudder to go through me as my mind flitted to somewhere... not good.

I dragged my attention back to the gorgeous woman who was now standing only a foot from me. My eyes took in her beauty, her soft features, and the hungry look in her eyes. Mixed in was a slight look of concern.

"You ok? Thought I lost you there for a second...?"

What to do now while we wait?
