Smokey the Vampire Slayer

At this point, Buffy coughed.

"Excuse me," she said. "I accidentally inhaled too much smoke."

"You should probably give up that habit," said Drusilla. "It's not really good for your lungs. Or your heart. Or your blood."

"Who the hell are you?" asked Buffy. "The Church Lady? I can smoke if I want to. And it's my body, not yours, so why not back off a bit?"

"Oh my," said Drusilla. "You human girls are so touchy. It's just that when you have such refined senses as mine --"

"You're choosing to spend a beautiful sunny day in a high school basement," said Buffy. "I'm sorry to say this but your senses can't be that refined."

Drusilla smiled a not so nice smile. "Oh, you have no idea how refined they can be, Smokey."

"That's Buffy," said Buffy.

"Whatever," said Drusilla.

She turned back towards Amy and said, "You still haven't answered my question. How do you know my name?"

"I guess I heard it in passing," said Amy. "The same way you heard mine."

"But you are a student here and a life-long resident of this little town," said Drusilla. "I, on the other hand, am a recent arrival -- and I am most definitely not a student."

"Then why are you here?" asked Buffy.

"I beg your pardon?" asked Drusilla.

"If you're not a student, why are you here on school property?" asked Buffy. "I know I wouldn't be here if I didn't have to be. So why are you here?"

"None of your business," said Drusilla.

"You know they have a word for adults who try to hang out on school property without becoming a school employee," said Buffy. "And it's not a nice one."

"Again, none of your business," said Drusilla.

"Buffy has a point," said Kennedy. "Why exactly are you here, Drusilla? I thought you and Spike didn't come to Sunnydale until the second year Buffy was here?"

"What makes you say that?" asked Drusilla. "And more importantly, how do you know that? And how do you know Spike?"

"Well, I could tell you but you'd never believe me," said Kennedy.

"Shut up, Kennedy," said Amy.

"Be quiet, Amy," said Kennedy. "I got this."

"Let me guess, naked girl," said Drusilla. "You and the Witch's Daughter have psychic powers?"

"My name is not naked girl," said Kennedy. "It's Kenne --"

"Yes, yes, naked girl," said Drusilla. "That's all very fascinating. But how do you happen to know all this stuff you claim to know about me? Could it have anything to do with this?"

And with that, Drusilla walked over to the center of the room, said some words in Latin and made some gestures with her arms. When nothing happened, Drusilla immediately reversed her gestures and said the same words again, only this time she recited them backwards.

Almost immediately a blue glowing hole appeared in mid-air. A hole that looked much like the portal Amy had closed earlier.

"Ooo, pretty!" exclaimed Buffy. "So that part wasn't a hallucination."

"No, it wasn't," said Drusilla as she smiled in Amy's direction. "And I agree. It's very pretty. Very, very pretty."

Then she smiled at Kennedy. "The nuns who taught me Latin always said I was a quick study."
