Slimed

Yulia fires off an identify, "the progenitor slime, source of all Stasis slimes in Iralia, a powerful creature immune or resistant to almost all forms of damage. It feeds on biological creatures and will try to trap prey inside of it, trapping them in a form of stasis so they don't try to escape as it feeds on them. Being fed on is not lethal, allowing it to feed on prey almost indefinitely, the more prey it has the more powerful it becomes. It is immune to all forms of physical damage, slashing, blunt or piercing and is immune to chemical or biological agents such as poisons or viruses. When submerged or in contact with liquids it can use those to heal itself and increase it's power and mass allowing it to attack more ferociously without having to worry about compensating for mass loss. Of course, it being submerged or coated in liquids, might open up new weaknesses it might otherwise not have. It can split off parts of itself into new slimes and if it becomes **** it can even split itself into multiple parts." the identify returns

"Alright so the rain is a problem, but not much we can do about that," Yulia states and informs them of what the identify returned.

"changing to basic explosive grenades might help, but it's probably not worth it, it sounds like we should just blast it with magic and plasma," Maple responds.

Yulia creates an illusion that quickly moves away from her as Lri and Maple also spread out. The progenitor slime is shuddering strangely, it's unclear what it's doing, but it doesn't seem to be attacking, perhaps it is simply enjoying the feel of the rain.

Yulia hits it with an undermine and it stops it's strange shuddering and responds by spitting a gob of goo at her. She doesn't manage to avoid the projectile, but luckily her armor protects her from the stasis effect. Lri and Maple open fire and the creature let's out a roar of pain as the plasma burns at it's form, but it quickly begins to regenerate and lashes out with a tendril grabbing at Lri. Lri barely manages to avoid as Yulia casts blizzard, the blizzard does nothing to hurt the slime, but it does affect the rain, freezing the rain, this doesn't fully stop it from being able to regenerate, but slows it quite a bit.

It lashes out with more tendrils aimed at Yulia, Lri gets in the way though and blocks the tentacle with her gun which is yanked out of her hands and pulled into the creature, "shit!" Lri yells having been disarmed.

"The illusion is doing nothing, it only seems to be responding to attacks, so it won't target the illusion," Maple yells.

"Then we'll just have to make the illusion attack!" Yulia responds and dashes over to where the illusion is as Maple fires on the slime some more and gets another gob of slime spat at her, it hits her and is heavier than the one that hit Yulia, knocking her onto her ass at which point the glob of slime begins moving, tiny tendrils slipping out of it and starting to try and worm under her armor as the glob turns out to be an actual slime launched out like a projectile. Maple screams and tries to get it off of her as it continues to try and strip her. Meanwhile Yulia hides behind the illusion and fires a **** lance at the progenitor which hits and causes it to skid backwards slightly and Yulia is already running away by the time it attacks back, lashing at the illusion with tendrils. Yulia continues this strat, running back to the illusion to attack with magic, hitting it with the icicle which does nothing and the fireball which does less than nothing, however a lightning strike lights the entire creature up like a christmas tree, making it let out a loud screeching noise and then begin to shudder violently.

"that was really effective!" Yulia yells excitedly watching it's obvious anguish. She then notices Maple's predicament and tries to **** lance the slime on her, Lri meanwhile grabs Maple's rifle. The **** lance knocks the slime off Maple and Lri blasts it killing it. Maple gets up, her chest plate partially removed and she tries to put it back on as they all turn their attention back to the progenitor just in time to see it split in half, creating two smaller progenitor slimes. Yulia and Lri immediately open fire on the two slimes, Yulia with more lightning and Lri with Maple's rifle. The lightning obliterates one of the two, but the plasma just hurts the other one which retaliates, lashing out with a tentacle at Lri, Lri tries to dodge, but it catches her leg and yanks her in one movement back to the slimes body and pulls her in. Her suit and armor protect her and she struggles to get free, while at the same time the slime begins to move around her, trying to grab at her and tear off her armor.

"What do we do we can't hit it without hitting her!" Yulia yells and Maple responds.

"The suit will protect her! hit it again!" she yells and Yulia hesitates, but then does, launching another lighting strike at it which obliterates it as well. Lri screams as the creature is destroyed and she's freed, the suit does indeed protect her, but only mostly and it still hurts quite a bit. Still the slime is destroyed.

Sally reappears as the three women are recovering and regrouping, Yulia casting repair on Lri's rifle which had been damaged by the lightning strike on the initial slime, "I suppose the rain also made it more **** to lightning, you mages are such trouble, it is why we developed anti-magic devices after all," she says sullenly.

"You can't win this, just set everybody free!" Yulia yells and Sally just shrugs.

"You beat the progenitor slime, but the Officer and the Directive wait within, I didn't necessarily expect a biological organism, even one as powerful and mysterious as the stasis slime to be able to beat you, it was..." she hesitates, "expendable, another slime will replace it in time and our store of it's miraculous **** defying material will be back to normal shortly, until then we have enough for the three of you," she says and then vanishes.

Yulia growls, "I don't like her..." she says and Lri nods, Maple just looks sad.

"Guess it's time to head inside," she says after a bit.

"Yeah, time to go into the prison," Yulia agrees.
