What does Moonstone have planned for day 2?
Sleeping in the Same Bed
No Western-style bed. Just a futon on the floor.
A single futon.
Sue Storm hesitated.
"Where's..." she began.
"One bed," Dr. Stone said. "You need to get comfortable in your own skin. Don't worry, I don't bite."
Which was true, as it turned out. The Invisible Woman was blushing and self-conscious as she slid into her side of the futon. Karla kept her distance. While the room itself was chilly, beneath the blankets, with both of their body heat, it was comfortably warm. Sue Storm lay there far later in the night than she should have, listening to Karla breathe, painfully aware that she was sleeping next to another naked woman.
What am I doing? Sue asked herself. What would Reed think? Or Johnny? How would I explain this to my children?
Fretting was not conducive to sleep.
Neither was Karla's snoring.
It started slow. The deep breathing suddenly became more nasal. Then the deep cachinnation began, the tell-tale sign of a deviated septum. And it got...loud. Sue Storm glanced over at her psychiatrist, sleeping like a very loud bear, perfectly at ease. She was a beautiful woman. If Sue wanted to, she could make the blankets vanish and study that trim, athletic body. But why? She had seen it, all day. Sue knew what Karla looked like. Karla knew what Sue looked like. So why this inability to sleep? Why this fretting about what other people think?
Maybe, Sue Storm thought to herself as Dr. Stone snored on. I really do have hang-ups.
An invisible pinch on Karla's nose ended the snoring. Sue Storm knew it wouldn't last. The force field would vanish as she lost consciousness. But maybe...
Sleep came. Karla snored again. Sue Storm was too deep under to care.
How do the pair wake up the next morning?
