Chapter 4
by ChickMate
Which of the three paladins have caught Mira’s attention?
Sir Paulus
‘Ho! Mira!’ called out Paulus, beckoning her over, ‘Come on, we’d best travel onwards. There’s dangerous routs ahead.’
Mira nodded, still blushing a little. She had always had a bit of an eye on Paulus, his good looks fit to melt any heart. Fumbling with her equipment she managed to saddle up and prepare her steed, hopping easily on it, soon the four were ready to travel again.
They had not been riding long, when they approached a large forest, it’s trees large and green, the ground lush with all sorts of plant life. It was a beautiful place, and yet had an odd feel about it, eldritch perhaps. As they entered it, Silar and Paulus put their hands on their swords, wary.
‘What is it?’ asked Mira, growing concerned herself. ‘What is this place? We’re well away from the boarders, no demons can assail us here.’
‘Nay, m’lady’ said Paulus, ‘tis not demons we fear but other creatures. This is the Forest of Stars, which borders the land of the Centaurs. It is said that the fey folk and other even stranger things linger here. They are not inherently evil, but their mischief and cruelty is legendary, as is their magic. Best be wary.’
Mira nodded and resolved to keep her guard up.
What do they find? Or is it without incodent?
