Chapter 8 by SkyDreamer SkyDreamer

Let's look at each game type a bit more closely.

Single-player games

Single-player games pit a player against the house. Even if multiple players are playing alongside each other, such as in games of blackjack or roulette, if the players aren't playing against each other, the game still counts as being single-player.

When a player enters a single-player game, they can bet however many chips they want. If they lose, the house takes those chips. If they win, they get a payout based on the odds and the amount they bet. Lower odds, higher multiplier for their bet.

Below is an example of this kind of game. More examples can be added on in the following chapters.

Slot machine

Unlike real-world slot machines, these use no electricity. Three thick silver octagonal wheels sit inside a gold case beside a raised metal plate. Players can place as many chips as they wish onto this plate, and then pull the case's handle. The handle winds springs within the mechanism, which then kick each wheel with random amounts of **** to set them spinning.

The wheels have the numbers 1- 8 engraved on each of their 8 faces. If the three wheels come to a stop on matching numbers, then the player will receive a payout equal to the displayed number times their bet. So three 8s gets the maximum payout with 8 times the original bet, while three 1s just returns the original bet to the player.

If the wheels land on anything other than three matching numbers, there is no payout. A staff member stands ready to take the player's bet from their plate if they lose, or bring them their winnings if they win.

(To use this in game mechanics, roll 3D8. If all three land on the same number, multiply your bet by that number for your winnings.)
