Shoes (short side story)

I had two pairs of shoes.

One I wore for work outside and another for the rest of the day inside the monastery. The main difference between the two was the sole as the work-boots were flat on the bottom and went up to my lower calf to protect me from dirt and mud getting into the boot. The disadvantage was that they were a bit too large for me.

The second was a pair of black loafers.

There was a heel in the back but overall height-wise it wasn’t much different from the shoes I wore before just that instead of a single large sole going from front to back there was now a gape in the middle splitting it into front part and heel instead. They were made of some kind of leather and thankfully unlike some of my older clothes fit me just right.

I had gotten used to it pretty quickly as walking in them wasn’t much different besides the slight tilt forward as the height difference between front and heel was slightly more than I was used to as a guy.

It did feel like I was putting slightly more weight on my toes with my ankle raised but the difference wasn’t much.

If it had been pumps or high heels that is another story, I knew that girls walked quite differently with those on but I was at-least being spared that experience for now.

As they had a much better fit than my work boots I actually preferred walking around in them instead of the boots even if they gave less protection against the elements feeling comfortable and light on my feet made me wear them more often outside than those heavy work boots meant for garden work.

If I had actual hiking boots I would obviously prefer them over both but given the choice the loafers won in this comparison as they were clearly made for Claire unlike the other shoes which she likely received from the monastery.

(Didn’t really find a good moment to integrate this part as it is rather boring but still relevant once she is **** to learn how to walk in high heels at some point and what difference it will make to her gait and posture.)
