Shock And Awe

The moment I finish bringing them here they all go silent. Followed immediately by four women screaming, falling from having their chairs suddenly disappear. It takes all my effort to stop myself from laughing. Once they get on their feet I spread out my arms and smile.

"Welcome to My domain." I say trying to hype the simple cabin up. Liz looks around before talking.

"I expected more." She says disappointed.

"Hey, I know its not much now but soon it'll be much better." I reply without thinking.

"Oh yeah, how so?" She asks taunting me hoping I'll fail.

"Well I'll get eight Domain Essences in here, which apparently is a lot." I continue still without thinking. Hearing this Liz starts frantically looking around until she sees the stone pillar. She rushes over to it.

"Holy fucking SHIT!" She shouts causing the others to go to her. They start whispering among themselves and I start debating if I should kick them out or not when Kallen turns to me.

"Eric, how would you like to start a Guild of your own!" He asks as smiling and stepping toward me.

"Huh?" Is all I can get out.

"Kallen you need to explain why." Kagiyama says stepping forward as well. "What Kallen means, Eric is that this Domain and your skills and abilities make you well... valuable. Meaning lots of guilds would do anything from offering you money or power to **** you or a loved one to get you. Before seeing this and hearing about your abilities we decided to both offer you to join us and explain what we do. Despite doing it out of order." He looks to Kallen before turning back and continuing. "We thought that would be best, you'd be safe and have time to finish learning about all this. But now we don't think that'll work. This is because your too..." he trails off moving his hands around trying to think of the right words before Sugano picks up.

"What my husband means to say is that, with your skills and abilities you're going to get very powerful in the months to come. Due to this, and with how guilds work, others could request you to join then for a short time, and while we can refuse we can only do it so often." She stops and Kallen starts again.

"But don't get the wrong idea, its not like this is bad. This system is in place to make sure a guild doesn't monopolize their members and gives them a chance to see other guilds. It brings us closer so we can work together better when needed." Kagiyama interrupts him.

"Yes, however with you it'll be bad. The other guilds will most likely start requesting you to try and sway you to join before you get to attached to one of us. But creating your own guild will prevent this as guild leaders cannot be requested. And you'd enter a pact with both our guilds to help with the Katorg case, afterwards you can disband or keep the guild it'll be up to you. Any questions?" He asks. I take a moment to process all this before asking.

"So what exactly is a guild? Like I know what you do and have assumptions but what is it exactly? Also how would I create a guild if I did so?" Myla starts chuckling before talking.

"Sorry we forgot to explain that. A guild is just a place where like minded people gather. These people are usually Lyna but it's not uncommon to find normal people and even some beast men. Anyway guilds mostly work independently or with the government. As long as you don't break any laws the government will leave you alone. What your guild does will determine how your interactions with the government will be, if you have any." She smiles and Hino steps forward.

"To make a guild you have to register with the government. We'll help with that but you'll need to know your guilds name and insignia, or logo. They also ask for the guilds... objectives, like what you'll be doing but for now you can tell them your helping us and we'll confirm it, however once we've finished the Katorg case you'll have to update it." Hino smiles and steps back. I sigh before asking.

"Could I get back to you later, have some time to think?"

"Of course." Sugano says bowing slightly. "You have our daughters numbers so if you have any questions just ask."

"Actually yeah, earlier you asked to buy the books, are you still wanting to?" I ask. I see Kallen and Kagiyama both step forward but before they can say anything I continue. "But I'll only sell one to each of you." This causes them to stop and look at each other. I hear someone giggle but can't see who. The two agree and I take us out of my Domain. Once seated I pull the books out of my inventory. Kagiyama agrees to buy the Toxic book and Kallen buys the Blood book.

"So Eric, what do you want for these?" Kallen asks placing the book down.

"Well, I have no idea how valuable these are but I'd like a Domain Essence." I reply causing him to sigh.

"That's a problem." Kagiyama chips in.

"Why? Are the books not enough?" I ask, willing to toss in whatever else is needed.

"No, the problem is that we don't have any you can use. You see, just like the crystal is linked to you the Essences are to. So we can't give you any since the only ones we have are already linked with someone else." I sigh. Of course it wouldn't be that easy. Oh well plan B I guess. I take a deep breath before asking.

"Do you have any metals or leather then, anything that can be turned into armor." Kagiyama nods and Kallen answers.

"We do but if armor's what you want, we have some you can have." I shake my head no.

"No, one of my skills allows me to turn raw materials into items, weapons or armor. The more I use it the better it gets to so I'd like to upgrade my current armor with what you have to get better at it." I say trying to hide my as much about my skills as I can. Kallen, Kagiyama and Sugano agree and leave saying they'll be right back with it. Just as the doors close Liz turns and stares at me.
