Shepard’s mom

Miranda gasped as she was met face to face by the older Shepard, who almost looked exactly like Jane except grey hair instead of red. “Oh… um… hello, Captain Shepard,” Miranda blushed making sure the towel was properly secured around her. “Sorry, but now’s not the best time to visit.”

Hannah rolled her eyes. “It’s nothing I haven’t seen before. And please, call me Hannah. Now, where is the girl I spent 6 hours in labor for?”

Miranda gestured toward the couch. Hannah walked over catching Jane by surprise. “M-mom… what are you doing here?”

Jane covered her crotch and chest. “Is that how you greet your superior officer?” Hannah asked.

“Superior? Mom, I outrank you,” Jane said.

“Not anymore. I still serve, and you’re retired. Have the respect to salute me properly,” Hannah said.

Jane blushed but obeyed her mom as she stood at attention in a salute. “Yes, mom.”

Hannah laughed. “Okay, okay, at ease. Now… I couldn’t help but notice my mother’s ring on the nude woman’s finger. I assume that means you proposed?”

Jane nodded. “And she said yes,” Jane said. She wrapped an arm around Miranda. “Mom, this is Miranda. Miranda, this is my mom. But you already knew that. It’s good for you to finally meet in person. And mom, Miranda is personally responsible for bringing me back to life. Twice. So please, be nice.”

“Sorry that this is your first impression of me,” Miranda said, blushing as she tried to look for her clothes.

Shepard went up the stairs to fetch their casual clothes. “What brings you all the way over here anyways, mom?”

“I wanted to spend some time with my daughter,” Hannah said. “Is that a crime? Actually before you get dressed. I wanted to tell you about an N7 tradition that used to happen whenever someone got engaged. Your father and I participated in it. And I think you and Miranda should too.”

“What is it?” Shepard asked.
