She wakes up to less sweet circumstances

Chapter 175 by CaptainPulse

"Wake up, princess."

Tina groaned petulantly and rolled over in bed. She was in the middle of another soothing dream, likely brought on by all the delicacies she'd eaten. She was in the middle of a field of flowers, frolicking like a little girl again with no one to tell her what to do anymore. Like a naughty child who didn't want to do her chores, she snuggled deeper into the pillow and blocked out the voice talking to her.

"I said, get up!" The voice insisted.

"No." Tina whined, trying to pull the pillow over her head. However, since she was lying on frosting and not cloth, she just slathered the stuff over her hair and face. Still, this didn't wake her up from her very insistent dream.

Tina felt very smug about herself until she felt a hand grab her ear and sharply drag her out of bed. "OWWW!" She reached up, her dreamy meadow now far behind her, and tried to wrest the iron grip from her ear, but to no avail. "Hey, that hurts!"

"Oh, I hope so. You're gonna hurt a lot more after the damage you've done."

"Huh?" Tina asked, rubbing her groggy eyes to see more than one person standing around her. One of the queen's guards was holding her by the ear, and standing next to her was the queen herself, two more guards, and her own mother. Hilda was, to the surprise of no one, still naked, and Brightra was wearing a bathrobe made from blue-dyed moss, which left both her cleavage out and a long slit exposing her leg. Whether this was a genuine wardrobe malfunction or a deliberate attempt at sex appeal was unclear, but Tina had a strong suspicion it was the latter.

"Well, this is most unexpected," Brightra huffed, crossing her arms. "Here I was ready to take a look at the progress of the gingerbread wing of the palace, and instead I find our guest in the middle of its wreckage, snoring the day away like a bear cub drunk on honey."

"Wreckage?" Tina asked, before looking around and seeing the fruits of last night's labor. The bed of cake she'd been resting in had much more than a Tina-shaped hole missing in it's center. Most of the whipped cream was gone, the remainder of it slathered over Tina's hair. Only about a third of the cake remained, the bulk of it eaten out from the center like a rat had burrowed through it. The rest of the room wasn't much better, between a collapsed ceiling, crumbling walls, and half-eaten chocolate furniture, it looked like a rabid animal had stormed through. "Oh. Did... did I do that?" Tina asked, sheepishly.

Brightra nodded and said, "I assure you, the bedroom is the least of the damage. The entire second floor has collapsed in on itself, including the translucent candy dome sitting atop the castle. That was very difficult to cook, I'll have you know. The gumdrop nursery is in shambles, the walls of the portrait hall are gone, and the steamed milk sauna and bathroom is dry as dry can be. What exactly do you have to say for yourself?"

Tina didn't remember seeing a bathroom, but she didn't remember eating that much of the bed either, so Brightra could veyr well be telling the truth. "Umm... my compliments to the chef?" She said tentatively.

Hilda shook her head. "Oh, darling. I thought I raised you better than this." Tina could have pointed out that her mother hadn't, in fact, taught her manners and self control at any point, but she figured it probably wasn't the best time. Hilda turned to the queen and said. "I must apologize on Tina's behalf. If there's anything you can do to me to make up for this, I'll gladly accept."

Brightra ignored the phrasing of that last sentence and said. "Well, I think there's actually an easy solution for this."

"There is?" Hilda and Tina asked in unison, both with similar eager tones.

"Yes. While the construction of the building was complex, the materials weren't any different from the baked goods you have in the big person kingdom. So, it should be quite easy to replace all of them."

"Wait, so, you want me to... bake a new castle?" Tina asked.

"My chefs will provide you with the recipes and let you use the kitchen. And of course, we'll have to delay your departure until you've paid your debt." Brightra smirked.

"You mean I've got to stay tiny until I've baked an entire castle?!" Tina exclaimed.

"Now, Tina, don't be rude. This is your own fault, so you need to see it through." Hilda chastized her daughter before looking back at Brightra dreamily. "Besides, now we can pay back her majesty for everything she's done to- uh, for us so far."

Brightra giggled. "You're a sweetheart, Hildy." She pinched Hilda's cheek, which turned a rosy shade of red. Tina rolled her eyes.

When they were finished flirting, Brightra turned to the guards and said, "Take this girl to the kitchen and have the cooks get her started on work. Oh, and," she gave Tina another disparaging look, "her existing 'dress' probably won't be sufficient clothing anymore. See if you can scrounge up a fitting apron."

"Why can't I wear my outfit?" Tina asked, offended.

"Oh, it most certainly wouldn't fit you anymore, girl, because... well..."
