Eager to try out the bow and discover the blessing, Cass walked briskly outside, her eyes rolling over the vines of the blessing more than looking ahead. Everyone (minus Ray who was heating up something over the prior nights coals) quickly followed outside.

She stopped next to the pond and began to draw her bow, eyeing a thicker tree that cast a good amount of shade.

“Now,” Monet’s voice interrupted icily “ I know you are not about to use a weapon on my grove… a grove that I may add, just blessed said weapon.”

Cass eyes went wide and she carefully released her tension on the string. “That was… about as stupid of a thing as I had ever done. I sincerely apologize Monet.”

Monet gave a placated nod and smiled at Cass, making it clear she was glad the point was taken.

“There are better ways to figure out the blessing anyway. Since it was applied to a weapon, trying to trigger it haphazardly is probably not the wisest course of action.

Have you awoken any abilities Cass?”

Cass shook her head, a little dejectedly.

“Not a worry. Venus, can you explain to her what it’s like, I know it’s new to you so you be able to explain it without the bias of habit that I hav built from years of casting.”

Venus thought “Honestly for me it seems to happen automatically when I engage in the right… behaviors. I can’t seem to ‘trick’ my abilities with half assed similarity. For example I don’t think Lay with Hands would work by me poking someone’s genitals with the tip of my pinky… though maybe it would if it was a genuine attempt at arousing them.”

Venus looked up at Cass after he thought and explanation and saw a look of light curiousity. “That’s great Venus, “ Cass replied “but unless I start jacking my bow I don’t quite know how that helps.”

They both looked uncertainly at Monique. Who was failing entirely to be mature about the discussion. After she finally stopped giggling at the idea of Cass’s bow cumming, she offered a little advice.

“Try meditating with it. There’s a chance it will point you in the right direction. It’s not a cursed item, and it was made for you. It may well want you to use it.”

Cass sat down in the grass and closed her eyes, but it looked like she was trying not to fidget then reaching some sort of zen.

After a few minutes everyone gave her some space and rejoined Ray, who had made something like a charcuterie board for breakfast. Venus ate enthusiastically, everything was so herbaceous and fresh.

After nearly an hour they went out and found that Cass had departed. Monet let them know she’d left about 15 minutes before. Heading vaguely in the direction of the village.

Bwen’s eyebrow went up at this “We maybe ought to follow her. What with trolls and goblins and the like so active in the past couple days.”

After a quick goodbye with Monet and Ray (which included Bwen apologizing for Cass’s lack of proper goodbye, apparently something she was somewhat infamous for locally) Bwen and Venus began to take off after her.

Ray stopped them one more time before they left. “Venus. If you don’t know what power is handing you Quests… I’d make that a priority. I’ve heard tale of trickster devils who pretend to be gods giving quests and the like.”

Venus’ face went pale at this unwelcome news, but Ray quickly added. “Best place I know you could find out is Jorn’s Keep. There’s a good number of shrines there and there’s a chance you could maybe feel something from the right one if your powers are deific. If nothing else, you may be able to get a cleric or diviners help in figuring it out.”

With this last bit of advice a new notification appeared.
