Chapter 118 by TheSpectator TheSpectator

What is your reaction?

She obviously isn’t coming on to me

You begin poking your food. “What would you do?”

“I’d rather go up there with you and the team that discovered them,” she says. “You look like you can handle yourself, and I think the fewer people know, the better. Not to mention, you don’t look like you’re getting along with your colleagues currently.”

Your eyes dart to the table where Scarlet and Alexandra are. Scarlet might try to get you killed if you’re put into a dangerous spot. Alexandra is already unpredictable so she could do the same thing.

Jordyn snaps her fingers. “Pay attention to me.”

You dart your gaze back to her and notice she’s leaned into the table, much closer than before. Now that she’s closer, all you can remember is Alicen, sucking your cock and draining your balls. The heat that washes over your cheeks brings makes you feel anxious.

“We can sneak out in the morning and take care of the bandits,” she whispers, her voice a little sounding a little ****. “We can take care of it, and I won’t get docked any points for having a breached perimeter.”

“Docked for any points?”

“We aren’t supposed to have any enemies within our area of operation or living. If any of your superiors find out, they’ll be sure to report it.” Jordyn looks down, her eyes now on the tabletop.

“So, that’s why you want to go with me?”

She sighs. “Yeah. I, uh, should have started with that.” Jordyn then slides you a wad of cash. You can tell by the color and the slightly more pungent palm smell that is suddenly in the air lets you know that it’s a new print, the more recent stuff coming out of Pre-war New York and Washington. You take the cash and thumb through it, counting 260 dollars- somewhat overpaid considering the task she’s offering you.

“I’d do it for less,” you tell her, sliding half the wad back, but she pushes it away.

“I’m also paying you for your silence,” Jordyn looks away, not directly looking at you. “Listen, just take the money so I can have at least a sense of security.”

You take the money and stuff in your coat pocket, feeling a little guilty for some reason. “Any other reason you’re singling me out, or is it just for fear of getting caught?”

“I’ve worked with contractors before, spoken to countless bounty hunters. I can tell by talking to you that you have some kind of… character to you. You’re different. I can’t explain it.”

You smirk. “That’s flattering.”

Jordyn smirks too, but it’s a friendly one you’ve seen on chatty bartenders and traders before. Your smirk curls into a kind smile, which makes Jordyn smile in return. “You’re not too bad yourself, Jordyn.”

Her cheeks turn slightly pink, and she crosses her arms. “So, you’re going to help me then?”

You are going to say...?
