Chapter 5

What happens next?

She loses the rest

Rose had walked some way, when suddenly a thick fog began to descend. Rose began to hear voices she didn't recognise, coming from either side. Sounds of footsteps, quiet whispers. Rose stopped, her breath caught in her throat. She was frozen with panic.

Then the shooting started. A green bolt came out the grey haze, striking Rose on the side of her denim jacket. The jacket almost instantaneously dissolved. That was enough to wake Rose up, and she started sprinting in the direction she knew the hill lay.

Rose was caught in the crossfire between two forces. Green and blue bolts flew past her, out of one fog cloud and into the other. She heard screams. Suddenly she was hit again, her pink shirt dissolving leaving her in her tank top.

Rose ran faster. She could feel the ground starting to rise, and she knew she was approaching the hill. The sounds of the battle seemed to be getting quieter, falling behind. Then another shot came, hitting her in the back. Her tank top dissolved. Now all she had was her pale blue knickers and a pastel pink t-shirt bra.

Rose kept running as the incline got steeper. The fog was gone now, the sounds of battle far behind. The incline levelled out, and Rose realised that she had reached the top. The Doctor was no where to be found. She sat down next to a tree, and decided to wait.
