Chapter 5 by mjor144 mjor144

The way up

She leads you through the depths of AWIO

At first you thought you are heading towards an elevator, but a sharp turn right made you realize she has something else in mind.

"Is it always like that outside?" You ask while crossing a long hallway.

"Wh-what? Ahh, you mean the people screaming with signs and stuff?" She looks at you when turning left this time. "Yeah, it happens quite often. We try not to worry about that."

"But you do. Worry, I mean? Otherwise there wouldn't be security at the entrance. Or the police."

She stopped and looked at you, for the first time with a serious face.

"There was an incident in a lobby few weeks ago. Please, don't ask me about that. Jeff and Ted, you know, the guards outside, are there to prevent anything from happening again."

Her big eyes got glassy for a moment. You decided no to push.

"I apologize for prying."

"It's fine." She responded cheerfully again and then pointed at doors. "Steven's office is right here!"

"Ok, thank you for leading me in here."

"You are welcome. You smell nice, you know? And I can see you have a goal. A purpose. Like me!"

You smiled at her.

"I assure you, you and I have completely different goals."

"That's true, but our determination is the same. Our drive. That's what make us pull destiny to our side." You pondered for a few seconds at her words.

"I hope you find whoever you are looking for. Good luck, Millie." You say as she hugs you again, this time for good bye, her ample bosom still shocking you with it's size.

"Oh, you say the sweetest things, David. Good luck to you too. I know you'll do great back home."

She let you go, and left.

You knocked on the doors three times before hearing "Come in" from the other side.

Inside was a modest office, simple desk with a computer and calendar, chairs at both sides, and a small files cabinet. What striked you as unusual were the framed paintings on the wall, representing fantastic landscape, like none you've ever seen before.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Asked the man that you could only recognize as Steven Blunt. A short, middle aged, smiling man with a bit too big glasses on his nose.

"Yeah... I'm sorry, my name is David Trent."

"No need to apologize, it's worth to admire the beauty whenever we can, David. I am Steven Blunt, nice to meet you."

You shaked hands.

"If you are wondering, those are not paintings."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Those are pictures, taken with our equipment, pictures from another world." He explained. "Photographer from one of our first expeditions took them and told us that this foreign world is so picturesque, you could take a picture of basically anything, and it would look like a painting. Please, sit."

When you were both seated, he started to **** keyboard of the computer with his fingers with the speed you've never seen before.

"Well, let's started. Like I told you on the phone, you got accepted into our traveler program. That means we did a background check on you, as well as ground interview with your family and friends, and assessed your skills and chances of survival in another world. Sorry it took so long, we were meant to call you last month, but we had an incident in this building and... well, in short, we got delayed."

"No problem, it gave me an extra month to prepare." You answered sincerely.

"What do you mean prepare?"

"Well, I knew whether I get picked or not, daily exercises and healthy diet are going to be useful, and that's what I did." You intentionally skipped your combat preparations, you didn't want to spook the guy out.

"Sounds good. Anyway, we checked your story. I can see why would you want to leave. I just need you to understand, mister Trent, that the world on the other side is unlike anything you've ever experienced."

"I'm ready to go. I was ready to leave three years ago." You responded with confidence.

"Okay! Well, in a minute I'll give you a bunch of documents to sign. I'm afraid that there is a hundred and fourty three pages of it, you know, the wavers, insurances, and such. It's already printing in the other room. But why don't I explain what danger possibly awaits for you on the other side?"

You nodded in agreement.

"The power of this old world is much more on the feminine side. Males are usually hunted by females to **** them into creating a bond and then breed. Of course, if male is strong enough, he can make bonds with multiple females. If you want to stay for some reason single, or if you'd like to see more of this world before getting trapped with one of the girls, I suggest you be on your toes and aware of your surroundings. Some of them will stop at nothing to get a bond mate."

"That's pretty ****." Your commented.

"Well, it's their way of thinking. From what our scientists say, they have it in their genes that they have to find a mate in during their life time. Unfortunately for them, for one born male there is about nine born females. So you can see why some of them are getting ****."

He stopped when the doors opened. A good looking woman in roughly your age comes in carrying a heavy stack of papers.

"Oh, she is here. Rachel, this is David Trent, our newest traveler. David, meet Rachel, she usually works with sponsors, but we are a bit short on staff and got no sponsor coming in today anyway, so...

"... so I'm filling in when I can. Hello." She finished Stevens sentence and showed her nice pearly teeth while smiling and handing off the documents.

"Rachel, while you are here, could I trouble you to..."

"Check David out?" She interrupts Steven again.

"You mean some kind of medical exam?" You ask, being filled with curiosity.

"Not exactly. Please, stand up."

You level with her and look into her eyes.

What does she see?
