She is hesitant.

Her light blue eyes suddenly fixed on my face.

"Look, mister. I don't know how the hell you got in here, but you've got to go." She started to stand up, got on her knees, and stepped off the bed to my left. "If you don't, I'm going to call the cops."

God. Fucking. Dammit. I hate this part.

"Lucy, the cops can't help you. There's no way to prove anything the Dark Rose has done. Hell, they've gotten away with **** so many fucking times, I can't keep count." I reach my hand up and rub my temples. Thinking about it gets to me.

"Oh, really? I'm not stupid. You said they found, what 15 different people's... sperm in her? They couldn't identify any of them? Give me a fucking break." She took a step backwards, towards the phone on her end table.

"I didn't say people. I said types. Lucy, it wasn't just human. 17 different species. Most unidentifiable."

She halted at that. This might be my only opportunity.
