She gets home without anyone seeing her

When I get to the village, I make certain to get to where I left my clothes. I look inside the room and see nobody else. Perfect. I would hate for anybody to see I’m wearing a white necklace. I get dressed as quickly as I can and make certain the necklace is hidden under my clothes. I don’t know if I will come across anyone tonight, but if I do, I don’t want them to see I got fucked by Kenric. Then I finally head home. I can’t wait to get to bed.

But when I get home, I notice that my mom and dad are still awake. They are in the living room, waiting for me to come home. As soon as I enter, dad gets up and asks, “What took you so long? You should have been home much earlier.”

“It’s nothing dad.” I say defensively. “We just took a long time dancing at the bonfire. That’s all.”

I start moving towards my room, hoping my dad will leave it at that. But he calls out to me saying “Show me your necklace.”

Fuck. I really hoped he wouldn’t have asked that. I need to find a way get out of this.

“By the ancestors, dad. Don’t you trust me? I’m your daughter. Way to tell me you think I’m a slut.”

I go get back to walking to my room, hoping dad would give up, but he doesn’t. He follows me and says, “I just want to confirm that you are still pure, Gwyneth. That is all.”

“Yeah, well it sounds more like you don’t trust me.” I fire back.

“Maybe I shouldn’t, because if you were still pure, you would have shown me already.” Dad says.

I look over to mom and ask her to help me out. She simply looks at me and calmly says, “Just show Moray your necklace, dear.”

Fuck. She’s taking his side. I’m going to have to show it. I cross my arms in front of my chest and make an exasperated sigh.

“No.” My did suddenly sighs while bringing his hands to his forehead. “You strayed, didn’t you.”

I look at my dad sternly and say, “I didn’t stray dad. I … I had to pee.”

Dad looks at me confused and says, “… What?”

“I had to pee. As in urinate.” I reply. “People tend to have to do that multiple times per day, you know.”

“I know what pissing is.” Dad replies. “What does that have to do with your necklace?”

“Well, it’s not like I can piss on the path. Imagine what your uncle would say if his spirit sees me defile the path like that.” I bring up dad’s uncle because he had a really good bond with him. Better than the one he had with his dad. “So, I had to go off the path to pee.”

“And after that you went straight back to the path right?” Dad asks.

I roll my eyes and reply, “Yes, dad. I went back to the path as quickly as I could.” It’s better not to tell him I got lost.

“So then let me see your necklace.” Dad insists.

There is no way I’m going to get out of this. Dad is not going to give up. But I feel I have created enough of an excuse for myself. I take a deep breath through my nose and pout. But as I breathe out, I get sad and my eyes start getting moist. I’m about to cry. Then I finally reach under my clothes, pull out Kenric’s necklace so my dad can see it, and I start crying.

“No.” I hear my dad say as I try to rub the tears out of my eyes. “And Kenric of all people?!”

“He … c-caught me … while … I was … still ... peeing.” I lie to my dad.

“I told you to get married before Samhain!” Dad yells. “If you listened, this wouldn’t have happened!”

This is when mom comes in. She places a hand on dad’s shoulder and calmly says, “Moray, it is not her fault that Kenric caught her while nature was calling. I’m sure she already feels bad. You don’t need to make her feel even worse.”

Dad looks like he’s calming down from mom’s words. He at least lowers the tone of is voice when he asks, “At least tell me he didn’t seed you.”

“I’m …” I start, but get interrupted by a sniffle. “… sorry.”

Dad turns around and places both his hands on his face. I hear him softly say “Oh my god.”

Mom looks at me and says, “You should go to bed now. All of us will be a lot calmer tomorrow. We can talk about it then.”

I nod and then finally head to my room. I take off my clothes and also Kenric’s necklace. I then stare at my bed. Last time I laid in it, I was a virgin. Now, I am used. I don’t think I will sleep well. Not tonight.
