She doesn’t think it’s for her

“Jane… it was interesting, intense even, but I don’t think I’m the right fit.”

Jane face immediately looked crestfallen. She blinked and said “Damn, I was really hoping to share this with you for awhile and we could really use the help here. I can’t blame you if it’s not what you want though. Just disappointed we won’t get to work together.”

She looked up, again watching Jane with those piercing brown eyes “What are you going to do then?”

Kira thought again. “Well I have this month’s rent at least, thanks to today’s activities. Hopefully that gives me plenty of time to find something I’m interested in.”

The first month of job searching had been brutal, with only retail experience and a gap in her resumes most of the positions she’d applied for hadn’t written her back. The few interviews she did get, bombed.

The second month, nearly over at this point, had been even worse. When she had gotten more interviews, she had been more **** and that apparently didn’t help her in getting hired. Living with Jane was great at least, especially now that she could hear all the juicy details of Jane’s job. The shit these men paid for was wild.

One day though, a day Kira had been dreading, Jane approached with a solemn look on her face.

“Kira, baby, we need to talk about rent.”

Kira flinched.

“I know you don’t want to, but I can’t afford to keep you here next month on what I make alone. I want you to stay here, but we need to figure out how we’re going to afford it.”

Kira just nodded glumly.

“You could always try working at the Stiletto with me again?”
