Chapter 17 by Westwall Westwall

Should she use a potion?

She doesn't have any!

In a moment of stark realization, Leaf discovered that her belt held no more potions; she had exhausted her supply. A wave of panic washed over her as she helplessly watched the Bug Catcher's Beedrill land a final, decisive blow, defeating her last standing Pokémon.

The reality of her defeat settled in, heavy and cold. Leaf's spirit felt crushed under the weight of this new loss, each recent battle seeming to chip away at her once unshakeable resolve. The Bug Catcher's triumphant expression only added to the sting, his earlier arrogance now amplified in victory.

"Looks like you were way out of your depth," he taunted, a smug grin spreading across his face. "Your strategy was weak, and your Pokémon... well, they need a lot more training."

Leaf bit her lip, fighting back the frustration and disappointment welling up inside her. She knew that losing was part of the journey of a Pokémon trainer, but it didn't make the experience any less bitter. As she recalled her defeated Pokémon, she felt a sense of defeat not just in the battle, but in herself.

The Bug Catcher, still basking in his victory, leaned in closer, his voice laced with mockery. "Better luck next time, huh? Now, you know the rules, girl!"

How does Leaf react to her defeat?
