She decided to stay sister-girlfriends.

In the end, Ash decided that she wanted to stay as not only twin sisters, but also as girlfriends with Iris. Solidifying this decision by placing a kiss on her lips, Ash mentally thanked the remote for how things had turned out so far. The kiss lasted for a few moments, but once they had parted lips again, the two of them continued on the final stretch towards their destination.

When they finally reached Pallet Town, Ash and Iris immediately headed towards Professor Oak's lab just outside of town. Apparently, in this reality, they had known the location of the lab through their correspondence with the professor ahead of their planned visit. Having heard about the Dragon Village in Unova, Professor Oak wanted to study its Pokémon, while the twins were looking to continue their journey in the Kanto Region. Their interests aligned, the twins had sent their starters to the professor before traveling to Kanto themselves so they could pick them up after he had finished his studies and start traveling through the region.

Already expecting their arrival, Professor Oak had both Axew and Deino sitting on one of the desks next to him as he finished writing down the last of his findings. Once the two Pokémon saw their trainers enter the lab, they immediately jumped off the desk and went to greet them. After a brief reunification, the two were returned to their Pokéballs before the twins turned their attention towards the professor.

"Welcome, you two," he started with a friendly smile. "I hope you had a pleasant journey here."

"We did, thank you for asking," Iris replied. "We hope Axew and Deino didn't cause you any trouble while they were here."

"Oh, you don't need to worry," the professor assured them. "They actually were a great help in my research. Thank you very much for letting me study them."

"We're glad to hear that and happy we could help," Ash said in return.

"Now, as proper thanks for aiding my research, I've prepared a Kanto Pokédex for each of you," he said before taking out two Pokédexes from one of the drawers of his desk and handing them to the sisters. The one he handed Ash was a light blue, while Iris' was colored pink.

"Thank you very much, Professor Oak," the two girls said at the same time before Iris continued. "We will be sure to take good care of them on our journey."

"I'm certain you will," the professor added.

After talking to Professor Oak for a bit longer, Ash and Iris eventually said goodbye and made their way out of the lab. Heading back into Pallet Town, the two made their way to the Pokémon-Center so they could get something to eat before they would start on their way to the first destination of their journey through Kanto: Viridian City. Since Ash, in this reality, was still attempting to compete in the Indigo League, she would once again have to challenge the Kanto Gyms in order to qualify. However, she could also simply try to change this, giving herself a new goal to reach alongside her sister with the help of her remote. The Pokémon-Center would most likely provide ample options for this.
