She and Atara are imprisoned in separate rooms

Lux has to find a way to save Atara if she’s going to get out of here.

Lux groggily opens her eyes. She’s in a different room from before, slumped against the wall in one of the corners. A metal fixture of some kind on the wall behind her is digging into her back, and when she tries to move, she finds that her arms are bound to it.

Two men – the not-bandits, the ones Atara called outcasts – are standing by the door, talking. Lux strains to hear what they’re saying.

“…the old woman knows where the others are hiding. We’ll squeeze it out of her. Just keep an eye on the outsider. We’ll figure out what to do with her later.”

Something Lux can’t make out. Then:

“She’s collared, chained, and half your size. Just make sure she doesn’t go anywhere. Got it?”

While the one who was speaking leaves, the other man stomps back sullenly towards Lux. He’s heavy-set, with grey in his hair and beard. On his forehead is a smudged mark, like an old tattoo that’s faded or been obscured. He gives Lux a resentful look before beginning to pace back and forth.
