She Wakes Up

She woke the next morning. After a good stretch, and a crack of her neck, she entered the main room of the inn.

The innkeeper sat at the table alone.

“Thank you so much,” she said. "You are very kind." She smiled at him.

“Don’t mention it. I hate to see a young lady in distress.” He smiled back. It was nice to see a genuine man.

"If I ever pass through here again, I'll be sure to pay you back." Samia smiled at him again, then fixed her hood to over her face.
