Chapter 7 by RonDerpedon RonDerpedon

How did she and the shorts fare? What happens next with Lexi?

She's fine, the shorts have been better. The parrot catches her attention.

Lexi took a brief moment to sit back, catch her breath, and assess her situation. As she sat back she let out a small yelp. The scratch on her butt left it a little sensitive. She rubbed it with her hand, which helped relieve the pain a little. Thankfully she didn't feel any blood on her hand; it must have just been a surface scratch. She looked over her other scratches and decided it was the same story there; none of the scratches put her in any danger, it seemed. As she rubbed her bottom she looked over her new shorts. They were denim, cut short enough for the pockets to stick out below the pant legs. The button and zipper both seemed to be in good condition. She slid the shorts on, wincing a little as they brushed against the scratches on her rear. In the quarrel with the parrot it seemed the shorts had been distressed and ripped on one side. The shorts still held, but almost the entire front of her right thigh was on display. The shorts were also a little tight on her, squeezing her white skin through the gaps in the front. The distressing even exposed her pelvis, only a few inches away from her delicate mound. Between that and her still totally bare boobs, very little was left to the imagination. Still, Lexi thought to herself, better than nothing.

She began thinking about what to do next, but couldn't concentrate over the splashing, yelling parrot not far off. It surprised her that it still hadn't left the water. She took a chance and peeked from her bush toward the water. Sure enough the parrot was still splashing and thrashing. After watching for a brief moment Lexi realized that perhaps the bird wasn't squawking in anger, but in panic. Can parrots swim? She had no clue. As she watched, though, it seemed less like an angry tantrum and more like fearful struggle. Lexi hated that bird, but she couldn't stand the thought of it being in danger because of her. She quickly looked around for something to save the parrot, and found a large leaf. With effort she peeled it from the bush it was attached to then ran to the shore. She waded just close enough to get the leaf next to the bird while holding it at arm's length. The parrot latched onto the leaf with its beak, still flailing its wings in the water. Lexi towed the bird out of the water and onto the shoreline, retreating a few steps once the bird was on land. It stumbled onto the sand, stretching and shaking its wings a few times, then it focused on Lexi. It raised its wings and fluffed its feathers, clearly trying to intimidate her, but in its exhausted, soaked state it only looked pitiful. Lexi couldn't help but feel bad for her former enemy. She didn't have any food to give it, but thought she could give it another peace offering.

She looked down at her shorts -- specifically, the button on the front. She didn't need it. After all, she reasoned, the zipper was still holding just fine. She held the waistline of her shorts, tugged off the small button, and tossed it in front of the parrot. The parrot eyed her warily, then cautiously hopped up to the button. It pecked at the button once, twice, then took it in its beak. At this moment, Lexi became worried that the bird would **** itself on the button, but to her relief it was content to "chew" the button. The parrot relaxed its wings and eased its feathers back down. Now that the bird was peaceful she couldn't help but admire its prettiness. She wanted to make things up to the parrot, for almost letting it drown. She let the bird toy with the button for a minute or so before moving slowly towards the bird. Again it raised its wings, but the parrot seemed less aggressive now. Lexi began cooing softly to the parrot as she gingerly reached towards it, trying to gently scratch the side of the bird's neck. The bird kept a cautious eye on her and made a noise similar to hissing, but didn't move. Lexi hesitated for a brief moment. This was a wild animal. Was trying to make peace with this bird really worth risking another attack?

Does Lexi go through with her plan? How does the parrot react?
