She's coy, but you learn your limits

"Well, I used to be black. And a man. And a dwarf." Your eyes widen with each statement until her serious expression cracks and she giggles at you. "You should see your face! No, none of that. Just a few little things that aren't important. Maybe I'll tell you after a few drinks sometime. But do you really think I limit changes to myself?" Allison asks archly, giving you a small smile.

"Not much, obviously, if the house doesn't even have wi-fi set up." But thinking about it, you realize that all this is a gift for a good deed. A little one, maybe, but now you have immense power. "Um. What if I write in the notebook something like, 'prevent global warming' or 'end all wars' or, I don't know, some other huge thing?"

Allison laughs. "Aw, you're ruining my punchline. No, you can't end world hunger. You also can't make everyone bi, sadly, or do anything else with vast scope like that. I'm not sure what the exact limits are, but it seems to be one or two people, one small place, one thing, something like that."

"So you can help out a kid or fix up a house or whatever but you can't change the world?"

"Exactly," she confirms. "You can enjoy it and you can help people some, but you can't quite play God. Not quite. And before you ask, no, you can't throw infinite money at problems either. You can afford to buy a private jet or ten but the money will mysteriously dry up whenever you try to donate more than a couple thousand pounds to charity. I don't know exactly what Mirela has in mind or why she picked us, really, but we did little things for people and that seems to be the scale we're at."

Okay, so you're not going to rule the world or save it. Still, you've got a lot of power and freedom at your fingertips. "So, interested in seeing the rest of the place?" Allison interrupts your thoughts. Right, you also have more mansion to explore. And remake, if it suits you.
