She'll have to get off the train first

Having scouted the train and seeing that there were no ringmasters aboard, Christy could relax a bit. She was far from out of the woods, having several stops of ringmaster territory to move through, but they couldn't possibly watch every train, right?

With each passing stop, Christy felt her relief growing. The odds of her successful escape were so slim that each step forward felt like a substantial achievement. She was nearly halfway out of the gang's domain before she allowed herself a sigh of relief. Maybe they didn't care enough to look for her. She knew enough about the gang's finances that what she had stolen was a drop in the bucket, but she corrected herself. She knew these men better than she knew their money. They were vindictive and would seek to make an example of her.

Which is why she was unsurprised when she saw the trademark expensive suits the gang members wore on the next platform. About a dozen of them waited to board the train. Several of them were carrying collars of various shapes and sizes. Christy cursed under her breath, she knew what they intended to do to her. She would not go back to the brothel if she had anything to say about it.

There were two stations left before she was free and clear, but she had to make a choice. She could rely on her clothing to conceal her identity and stay on the train, or she could get off here and try to find a new path out of the district.

Both had their risks. As the train doors opened to allow for an exchange of passengers, she made her decision.
