Nate sighed with relief and turned to Nora.

"Glad that's over," Nate said, "Sorry for going so militant right there. You know the Army, they train us to give 110-"

"That was Mr. Peterson. He used to work for my law firm. He got laid off last month, but I can't believe he's this bad off."

"Unbelievable!" Nate said dumbstruck. A month ago that raving lunatic was a lawyer at well respected firm!

"Are things really this bad?" Nora whispered, "What is happening to this country!"

"Nora," Nate said.

"I mean between the war, the bad economy, there's a damn Plague raging for god's sake. How are people like us suppose to feel safe. How are we suppose to start a family!"

"Nora!" Nate yelled grabbing his spouse by the shoulders, "Don't say that. Look everything's going to work out. Look it's only a matter of time until the Army retakes Anchorage and we end this godforsaken war. Then the economy will start to bounce back. You'll see"

"Our future is bright. Remember that we're living the American Dream sweetheart," Nate said with a smile, "We have good jobs, a beautiful house, we're young, we're independent, we're-"
