Settling in

The Porn King's influence grows subtly, allowing the Porn King to stay under the radar for a prolonged period of time. Usually the Porn King builds up his power bit by bit by bit, little ripples of him exerting power over unsuspecting people. People who are in charged situations that lend themselves to the perverse power of the Porn King. Nothing immediately shocking or taboo, just increased instances of sex in situations that were already sexual.

Which is what happened the first day he was in Sunnydale.

The first people to fall to his power were a married couple who were already having sex. They didnt know their new neighbor had even moved in but thanks to him now living next door and naturally exuding a perverse aura they suddenly found the energy for slightly more adventurous sex and attempted anal sex for the very first time. Thanks to the Porn King the couple was surprised that Anal was the best sex they had ever had. As the Porn King became more active in the following days the couple became decidely more adventurous.

It was a whole month before Buffy or any of her people even encountered someone under the influence of the Porn King. A whole month of the Porn King growing his power and spreading his influence. Teens being horny because of the Porn King were easily mistaken for just being horny teens. Folks at the bars getting rowdy because of the Porn King were misattributed to being drunk. Couples being more experimental in the bedroom because of the Porn King were chalked up to being young and in love.

Add to that the fact that Buffy and her team were greatly diminished at the moment. Giles was over in England, Spike was thankfully gone and Anya was not currently associated with the team. While not crippling it did mean that Buffy and her remaining team were flying blinder than usual.

Which helped the Porn King settle in and seize power in Sunnydale. But it wasnt possible for Buffy and her team to miss the Porn King forever. It had to happen eventually....
