Settling The Home Front

It was early the next morning when Kenny made his way back home, his mind and body both relaxed if not tired from his long night with Nicole. Things were put in perspective for him, and Kenny realized that just waiting around for something to fix itself wasn't about to happen. He might not have the answers for everyone yet, but thanks to Nicole, he had a few clear answers in his mind. For starters, the first thing that he had to do was talk to Juliet, no way around that. If there was any girl in the bunch he'd never be able to ignore it was going to be his cousin, she was family after all at the end of the day.

Kenny reached his house, spotting Juliet's car still in the driveway, and headed inside, going directly towards his bedroom. He took note of Juliet's bedroom door ajar and her light on but still moved to his bedroom first. "Change, figure out what to say, then talk to her...simple enough..." He murmured under his breath.

However, on entering his bedroom Kenny was greeted by none of than his cousin sitting on the edge of his bed. The two Clarks sucked in a nervously surprised breath, and Juliet sprung to her feet. She absently gave her clothes a few straightening pulls, and cleared her throat, "Good...you're um -- You're home, good," Juliet calmed herself, "It's time we have a talk." She clenched her fists and turned her body aside, as if ready to have a physical battle of wills with her cousin.

Kenny tucked his hands into his pockets and to Juliet's surprise she found her cousin merely nodding back, "Couldn't agree more, I was gonna go to your room in a minute to tell you the same thing,"

"Oh," Juliet's whole demeanor shifted no longer holding such a defensive stance, "That's...I'll be honest, Ken, I didn't think this would be that easy..." Kenny blew out a short laugh through his nose and Juliet merely shrugged back, "What? Sometimes you like to run or ignore stuff that seems scary, but I knew we needed to talk before...whatever this is; becomes all we are..."

Kenny nodded again, moving to his computer chair while Juliet returned to the edge of his bed, sitting down as well, "You're right. Things have been far from normal since that night together,"

"Yeah," Juliet fidgeted with her hands, "It wasn't exactly our finest, well thought out moment, was it?"

"I'd rather just call it impulsive and leave it at that," Kenny wet his lips, rolled in his bottom lip for half a second, and then scoffed, "No, that's not totally true either. If we're doing this, let's be honest, I don't really regret that night. I liked it. I liked it a hell of a lot, and I don't have any regrets about sharing that moment with you." Juliet's eyes widened but Kenny held up his hand, "But," Kenny sighed, "It was definitely a mistake."

Juliet crossed her arms fully, and with a near wince asked "How do you mean?"

"Plain and simple? Just shouldn't have happened," Kenny bluntly replied. He hoped the answer wouldn't hurt Juliet's feelings too much, but at this point, all he wanted to do was try and get back to the way things used to be and forget about the perverted fantasy lifestyle he had for this girl who might as well have been his full sister.

Juliet broke into a relieved smile and hung her head, emptying out all the air in her lungs, "Oh thank you fucking Jesus," Juliet cleared her throat and immediately sat back up, "I couldn't agree more," Ironically, Kenny felt a little bit of sting from her words, "But I mean about all of it. The mistake, how we just let impulse take control...a-and about having no regrets..." Kenny's brow jumped, "You're right, we need to be honest, and honestly? I liked it, and I'm happy I'll have the memory, but that's all I want it to be now. We had our feelings for each other, they boiled over and we dealt with them and now we can just -- "

"Put them where they belong," Kenny finished for his cousin, "It never could have worked for anything more than that night, regardless. At the end of the day, we're family...that's all we're ever going to be," His tone shifting to almost forlorn,

Juliet's expression turned sullen, "I know, that's just how it is. It's...unfair, really." She slid her hands through her hair, pushing it away from her face, "I really meant it when I told you that you're the guy I've always wanted. Everything about you Kenny is what I want, it's almost cruel that I get to see it but can't act. Like seeing something in a museum that you're not allowed to touch,"

"I know the feeling..." Kenny scratched along his scruffy chin, "But," He scooted his chair closer to Juliet and took his cousin's hands, "I wouldn't trade what we do have for anything else. You mean so much to me, Julie, as my family, as the only other Clark I know has my back to the bitter end. If all we get to do with you is be your friend, get annoyed by your overprotective chip on your shoulder, and laugh at you while you're wine drunk, then I'm fucking happy with it."

Juliet let out a giggle, "I can live with that too," The brunette pushed forward and pulled her cousin into an embrace, "I'm sorry I left the way I did. I give you shit for not wanting to face scary shit like this, while I straight up moved out for a few weeks," She scoffed, "I never want to lose you from my life. You're my number one guy, I need you."

"Always happy to be of service," Kenny chuckled back,

"Oh really?!" Juliet pulled back with a smile, "Because there is something else I needed to ask you!"

"Nope, uh-uh, I take it back," Kenny jumped to his feet and immediately walked out of the room with Juliet trailing right behind him,

"Oh come on, please, please, please, just one little favor!" Juliet begged,

Kenny turned back, giving Juliet a playful, hard glare, "I know that tone in your voice, this isn't just a "little favor" this is that I have an annoying fucking task that I can't do alone so I need to **** you to help me, kind of favor."

Juliet put on her best pouting face, "Oh pleeeeeease, after all that shit we just went through? Can't you help me, Ken? We can spend time together! Really get things back to normal! Please, I miss my cousin Kenny..."

"Oh you dick, had to say it like that..." Kenny rolled his eyes and Juliet triumphantly smiled back, "What is it?"

"This weekend, everyone is allowed to go up to BMU a week early to start setting up their dorm rooms. Quinn and I are going together but I won't have enough room for all our bags in my car so could you...maybe...follow us up with my stuff...and then maybe help me bring it in and unpack?" Kenny sighed and Juliet cupped her hands together, "Because you're the best? And you missed me? And we can then bond while we're there again?"

"Gees, enough from the guilt department," Kenny bobbed his head either way for a moment and then finally gave a **** nod, "Fine..."

"Ah! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Juliet gave him a quick hug, "Quinn would have had to go with her family if I couldn't make this work, she's gonna be so much happier now that I figured this out! Thanks, Kenny, I'm gonna go call her!"

"Yeah, yeah, your true intentions were shown, you only wanted to use me," Kenny sarcastically replied as Juliet headed towards her bedroom, though the brunette did give pause and glance back, sharing a calm, relaxed last look with her cousin before heading back into her bedroom while Kenny did the same, both much more relaxed and at peace with everything now.

So we've officially entered final arc territory, the main story will come to a close by the end of the BMU trip, and I really hope you guys will enjoy what I got. Again I do have three endings already worked out that'll I'll be sure to post in good time together. I also just wanted to take a second to thank everyone who has stuck with the story and liked these chapters. When I started Greenwall I didn't know how it was going to go and I was absolutely shocked to see the response it got from the very beginning. I know certain parts maybe got dragged out a little or maybe even got a touch annoying but I just want to say that without those comments, likes, bookmarks, and favorites I never would have gotten this story done.
