Settle down Pt 2

Neo looked at Walt with Mystique's head in his lap and sighed shaking her head.

"I know," he said sitting on the couch and stroking her hair. "But I did this to her. I should be the one to explain it to her. She's still my responsibility."

Neo rolled her eyes.

"You're right." He said. "She made her choice and I made mine."

Neo nodded and sat next to him.

"Thank you, Neo dear," he kissed her cheek. "I still owe you for the Casino. Want to go out later?"

She grinned and nodded emphatically making him smile. But then she tilted her head and raised an eyebrow.

Walt is surprised. "I was thinking you today and then maybe Kali tomorrow night because I still owe her. Why who did you want me to bring?"

She gives him a look like it should be obvious.

Walt sighs. "I really would like to bring her too but Penny is safer here."

She grabs his chin and gives him a hard look.

"Yes. You're absolutely correct. I know. It's honestly been bothering me as well. But if I take you where I'm thinking it's a big crowd and a lot could go wrong. It'd be like our "shopping date" times a hundred. I'd need a small army or the very best to ensure her safety. It'd be a major problem for everyone. And while she's often getting the wrong idea she also often gets the right idea about the strangest things too."

She gives him a hard look and points at him and makes a fist.

"Do you know what a "hero complex" is?"

She shakes her head.

"Some one who thinks of themselves as "the hero" in their identity. They'll try to make themselves the hero in a situation, striving for it. They take risks, even commit or set up crimes to make themselves out to look like a hero. Putting Penny in danger just because I think I could save her is that kind of foolishness. "

She points at him and shakes her head.

He nods and strokes Mystique's hair. "That's right. I'm not. I'm the opposite if anything. Others have called me that but I don't. It might be odd to say to a character. Some get it, some never do... but you might understand being who you are and coming from your world. "True Hero's" and "Villains" are mostly a fictional concept for people. They're usually labels that get attached on a person for one reason or another by someone else. Manami thinks I'm a hero because I saved her at the hotel... but that's not the truth. Even if her mind wasn't messed with, you and I and Kali, saved her at the hotel. Not solely myself."

"And in another way of thinking we were partly responsible for that danger in the first place." He nodded. "She and the others were in a bad situation. Yes. I came up with a plan and a scheme to try to get them out including backup plans and contingencies. But Tsu is correct. It wasn’t necessarily "heroic". Infact some could look at those plans and contingencies and easily see them as villainous."

Neo looks thoughtful Walt smiled. She was growing so much he was proud of her. "Next time you have training and a rest break ask "Joy" or Raylan or some of the others about it. I wont go into the details, it's their stories to decide to share or not. But their worlds more closely resemble this ones reality. In the real world there are few perfectly good and evil, "black or white" people or situations. It's mostly grey and you try to do the best you can. It's one of the reasons I chose people like them and others to teach you all the basics."

He looks down at Mystique. "She's had a very sad life and made consistently "bad" decisions in her story. It's easy for someone to call her a villain. Was her attack on Tsu yestday because she's been **** into over a century of playing that role? Because she's spent the majority of that time fighting against "heroes"? Because if she stops seeing herself as a villain she'd have to actually take a hard look at herself? Or is she a "truly irredeemable" person?"

"Am I any better now that I've done this to her?" He asked. "She certainly won't thank me for this. Am I the villain in her and the others stories?"

Neo pats his chest over his heart. He understood. She thought his intentions were good.

He looked at Neo and gently stroked her face. "I'm so proud of you and Penny for the growth you've made... but someday we'll find Ruby Rose. What will you do then, Neo dear? You and Penny have become friends. She loves you. You know that. If you kill Ruby you'll most likely lose that. You'll become the person who took someone precious away from her. Two someone's most likely because you likely won't be friends anymore. You and I know how that feels. Do you want her to feel that way?"

Neo's shocked. Her face is hard to read as she goes through a lot of complex emotions.

Walt kisses her cheek. "It's OK. I love and accept you Neo for who ever you want "Neopolitan" to be... but someday you'll have to make a choice about who or what that will be when that time comes... and I will do my best to support you through it."

Neo takes his hand and nods her head. He was good like that. She needed to give it thought sooner rather than later.

She kisses him and he kisses her back. She doesn't want to lose him like Roman. Someone who accepts her for who she is, but also supports and encourages her to figure out who she wants to be. For all their differences they were exceptionally similar.

They both looked down at Mystique. According to Friday it'd be any second now. He looked at Neo. "Sure you want to stay for this?"

Neo nodded.

Walt did too. "And that date later?"

Neo smiled and nodded!

He grinned. "Great. I'll let you decide if its a group or not though I'd originally intended for just us."

They kissed. Mystique groaned. They looked down at her and smiled as she opened her eyes. Finding them looking down at her from where she lay on the couch, head in Walt's lap watching her intently.

She swung at him but he the collar stopped her movement cold. Neo snickered silently. She tried to morph into the little bitch and swung for her too. Not only did she not change at all, her whole body seized up with pain! Excruciating pain! Molten hot agony flowed through her veins and made her brain see spots!

Then it receded and she saw Neo leaning on Walt's shoulder looking down at her grinning and wagging her finger, while Walt said, "I think that'll do."

"What did you do?" Mystique whispered.

Neo rolled her eyes. She patted Walt's shoulder, got up and skipped happily away.

"I wouldn't do this to an animal but you left me ****." Walt crossed his arms. "Obedience school. Your powers, hell your body, isn't yours to solely control anymore. You also can't attack anyone and anytime agression levels are detected towards someone who isn't me, you'll be hit with some pain as well. A smack on the snout for bad bitch behavior."

"You cant-" she started.

"I can. I did. I declawed and pulled your teeth. You're effectively chipped and can and will be tracked at any and all times. Everywhere you go. Every move you make. I'll know when you've been bad. I'll know when you've been good. There's no need for you to plan to escape anymore. You're not going anywhere."

He looks up and sees Neo brought Tsu into the room. Walt nodded and got up putting his jacket on. "I hope you learn to like it here Mystique. I hope you learn from this." He puts his hat on and sees Senko has a snack and thermos wsiting for him by the door. "Because you're my responsibility now and if not you'll never leave. I own all of you with only the barest of rules and treat you all as family, friends and guests with trust, respect and love. Break those rules and refuse my hospitality?... I'll treat you like a fucking prisoner."

He walked over to Tsu and kissed her check before opening the door and offering Senko his arm and leaving.

Mystique and most everyone else looked shocked except for Neo who looked at Tsu curiously wearing her glasses.

Tsu swallowed. "Ok. That was kind of hot. Ribbit."

Neo nodded with a grin.
