Jessalyn knelt in front of the word processor. The screen was monochrome green and there as a yellow cursor blinking. "Hmmm," what should I type. How about....She typed: Jessalyn Cole will get the job she interviews for today. She will be offered double the typical wage and her job easily works around her classes after she starts college.

"We know the keyboard works," said James. "Probably not much storage."

Jessayln hit Enter. "Well, whatever, she said. "I wonder if what I typed will be fact or fiction.'

"Probably a combination of both," said James before he pointed at the screen.

The screen glowed brighter and brighter until the screen turned as yellow as the text then the text and screen color inverted until a new text appeared: Done.

"That was weird," said Jessalyn.

"Yeah, it was," said James.

"Well, I have to get ready for my interview. Wish me luck."

"I can totally see you as a barista," said James. "You're a shoe-in."

"And since Beaux's Beans is across the street from campus, it's perfect, considering neither of us have a car."

Jessalyn went to get ready for her interview, forgetting about what just happened with the word processor, and James went back to unpacking and setting up his bedroom.
