Second Chances
It is only a couple of minutes later when you hear Zoey race back down the stairs and holler. “Be back soon!” Followed by the slam of the front door.
You and El were still at the table looking at Fiona.
“You softie!” You tease.
“Shut up.” Fiona grumbles, but brings the mug to her lips to hide a grin.
Elsie was still dumbfounded. “Why are you being like this? Why are you being nice?”
Your big sister shoots you a wink and quips. “Jesse said he’s not going to let me bully you guys anymore. He was pretty serious about it, you should have seen him last night. And…since I’d hate to have to kick his ass…I thought I better listen. At least for now.”
Your smile widens and so does hers.
El wasn’t so touched. In a hushed suspicious tone she presses. “Why?” Her eyes narrow. “What are you planning? What’s this about? What are you going to do to Zoey?”
Fiona’s grin is gone as fast as it came. It’s not that she didn’t deserve it, because she certainly did, but El’s distrust couldn’t have felt good to your older sister. You recall how certain your mother had been that Fiona would ruin everything in trying to get Zoey to stay, she would have certainly shouldered some of the blame had Zoey decided to leave. But now that she hadn’t ruined, in fact she was the only reason Zoey was staying at all, she was facing her younger sister’s skeptical glare. She couldn’t win. Fiona had made her own bed, yet how could she find a better way if her every action was deemed bad by default?
“El.” You reach across and take her hand, giving her a look.
Her pretty face softens and she lets out a sigh as she realizes what she’d done. With you assuring her like this she gives her sister the benefit of the doubt. Looking back to Fiona she says more kindly. “Thank you. This means so much to Zoey.”
“I don’t think she did it for Zoey.” You say.
Fiona glances your way then back to Elsie and nods.
“Well…thank you.” El gets up and approaches Fiona. After a moment’s hesitation where each of them were unsure what to do she gives her big sister a quick awkward hug.
“It’s important to you.” Fiona says as she runs a thumb around the edge of her mug. “So it’s important to me.” After taking a sip she adds darkly. “It’s not right what that man did to his girl.”
“No.” Elsie says softly. “No it isn’t.”
Fiona licks her lips and studies her sister’s face. “Do you think she’ll ever forgive him? Do you think she’ll ever love him again?”
The tension in the room rises to a nearly unbearable level as Elsie stares straight back at Fiona. “She still loves him. As for forgiveness…I don’t know.”
Fiona’s face flinches ever so slightly and she nods. “She shouldn’t. He’s a piece of shit. He doesn’t deserve to be forgiven.”
“That’s not his decision to make.” Elsie shoots right back with words she’d clearly already had prepared. “He doesn’t get to decide how she feels or how she ought to feel or who she forgives.”
“After what he’s done.” Fiona whispers. “He doesn’t deserve a second chance. He doesn’t deserve a girl like Zoey.”
“You might be right.” El says and you see Fiona’s shoulders slump lower. “But it wouldn’t be a second chance for him. It wasn’t just one time. One time and never again. A single terrible mistake. He hurt her over and over again.” Elsie shifts almost imperceptibly closer to her sister. “A second chance…well…everyone deserves a second chance. Don’t you think?”
Fiona sets down her mug. Reaching out she lays her hand on Elsie’s chest, El in turn brings a hand up to lay over Fiona’s hand to hold it to her heart. There is a moment of real connection between your sisters like you hadn’t seen in years.
Taking a big deep breath Fiona nods. “You’ll have to let her know about the secret, if you haven’t already. I’m not going to hide myself in my own home, not again. Not ever again.” You felt a bit guilty as you realize she was talking about all of the years of hiding from you.
“She doesn’t know.” Elsie confesses nervously. You wonder if she was about to let the big news slip. “It’s still a secret.”
Fiona’s lips curl into a crooked devilish grin. “Well what are you waiting for? I think the girl likes you.” She pinches El’s chin. “You could be slamming that cute little blond pussy every night if you play your cards right.”
“Fiona!” Elsie stammers and blushes. “It’ not…like that!”
Fiona throws her head back with a great laugh. “We’ll see.” Looking to you she says. “What do you think the over/under is on these two bumping uglies? A week?”
You sputter a laugh despite yourself. “Bumping uglies?”
“You guys are the worst!” Elsie protests, though the smile threatening to break out tells a different story. As you and Fiona laugh she has to hold her own titters back. “I’m getting dressed. You guys are hopeless.” With that El marches out of the room and upstairs.
You and Fiona look at each other, still giggling a little. “That was pretty cool what you did with Zoey.”
Fiona motions you to come to her and you do so happily. As you reach her she turns you around and hugs you tight from behind. Her breasts push into your back, her bulge into your butt, her strong arms making you feel so damn good. As she lets out a sigh you feel her hot breath wash over your ear and it sends sparkles of sensation down your body as your short hairs raise. Your sister holds you, seeming to savor this moment for as long as she could. As if it might be spoiled any second now.
After another deep breath she whispers a confession. “She wasn’t wrong to be suspicious. Elsie knows me too well.”
You stiffen in her arms. “What do you mean Fiona?”
“I’m not a good person Jesse.” She nips your earlobe with her sharp teeth causing you to shudder. “Your sister is a very bad person.”
“Fiona?” You try to pull away but she holds you tight.
“Yes I want to protect Zoey from her father. I want to see her become a strong and healthy woman. I want to help Zoey, for Elsie’s sake if nothing else. I want her to belong here. To find a home here.” She kisses your neck. “But there’s a bigger picture.”
Your heart sinks as you feel the faith you’d trusted in Fiona not betrayed but disappointed. “Bigger picture?”
“Has Aunt Peg told you about our mutation?”
“A little.”
“About our future, about humanity’s future?”
You bristle, yet you could not bring yourself to fight your sister’s powerful embrace. “Yes.”
She takes a long breath in through her nose, taking in your aroma. You could feel a subtle swell push against your ass. “I want that future Jesse. I want our kind to live openly. To be proud of who they are. I want Elsie to do all the things she’s always dreamed of without having to fear…them.” Fiona’s hushed voice was verging on the fanatic. “We are the future my brother. I dream of that future. I want that future for us. For all of us.”
“Fiona…”
“Be fruitful and multiply.” Fiona sighs. “Jesse, if we’re going to see that glorious future we need numbers. And for that…we need breeders.”
