What's the story?
Second Career
Vicki Prost had a dream. At 18, she moved to L.A. to become a star, but after only getting two TV ads and a few print ads, she realized she was not making enough money to survive, so she gave up on her dream as an actress and/or model. At 20, she married a wealthy investment banker twenty years her senior.
After twelve years of a loveless marriage with boring sex and four affairs, Vicki divorced her husband and got a nice alimony settlement, so she decided to pursue her dream again. She hired an acting coach and an agent and was offered a spot in what she thought was a teenage comedy. She would play the neighborhood Karen who complained about a wild senior party happening at the house next door.
The director gave Vicki few directions. "Your job is to act like a furious bitch. You will barge into the house and demand that the party come to a halt or you're calling the police. No matter what happens, do not break character. I repeat, do not break character. I want to shoot as few scenes as possible and to keep an element of spontaneity and surprise, I want you to react to the young actors naturally. I'm not going to tell you what they will say or do to you as I want you to react as naturally as possible."
"Um, sure I can handle that," said Vicki. She went to wardrobe and was dressed in a cream colored skirt, matching blazer and shoes and a butterscotch colored blouse.
The scene was being filmed at a house outside of Malibu. Vicki stood outside the door and heard "Action!"
Vicki barged into the house that was full of loud music and young actors pretending to party.
