Screwing Up Bad.

You and Lexie do not say a word as you continue to pull her by the forearm all the way back towards your chambers. As you open the door and pull her in, you quickly shut it before you, walking over to a shelf at the wall. You immediately grab a bottle of rum and pull out a goblet, filling it to the top "Care for something to drink?"

"No thank you, Darien." Lexie replies.

You immediately bring the goblet of rum to your mouth, downing the entire thing before you refill it almost instantly. At the same time, you turn around, goblet in one hand and the bottle of rum in the other. You walk over to the table with the two chairs next to it and motion to Lexie to sit down at it.

"Well?" you sit down and then bring the goblet to your mouth, downing about half of it "What's wrong?"

"I don't want you to worry about me, Darien..." Lexie replies.

"Well...somethings up." you take another sip from your goblet, your body swaying back and forth lightly in the chair as the alcohol is hitting you quite hard at this point "Tell me." you say with a stern voice as you stare blankly over at her.

"I said, don't worry. You have so many important things to worry about coming up. You should go party with your forces, get to know them, have fun with them. You're an outsider to many of us, you need to continue to get on our good side. You don't need me around to do that, I'll just hold you back, especially since I'm not in the mood to drink or party at the moment...I'll head back to my villa just to rest and rela...."

"Bullshit!" you interrupt her "You're jealous I bet." you finish off your goblet once more before pouring it to the top again.

Lexie doesn't even say a word, her mouth just drops agape as her eyes go wide.

"I bet that's what it is, nobody cared about me because I was just some Rathkin piece of shit, but now...now the Syndicate is starting to love me and I bet you're jealous you don't have me all to yourself anymore."

"Are you..." her mouth still dropped open "are you serious right now?" she looks back into your glazed over eyes, still somewhat shocked at your accusation.

You take another drink of your rum. In the back of your mind though, something is telling you to just shut the fuck up and stop talking before you make it worse...

"Darien, you're the leader of the Sunriders now, you need to have fun, enjoy our company and get to know us. That's how it works. I don't care if you enjoy the company of another Sunrider."

"Bullshit!" you say again. "That's Bullshit! You don't get all my attention anymore so obviously you're just pissed off." you slur a few of your words.

"Darien!" she tries to plead with you "I told you to indulge yourself. I told you to have fun. I want you to go enjoy the Syndicate and do whatever you want. If you think I'd get jealous or pissed off because of what you did you clearly don't know me very well."

"Pshh..." you roll your eyes before you finish the rest of your goblet "Are you pissed off I fucked Ashe without you? Is that why you are doing this? We hung out all the time. All the fucking time." you're getting a bit louder now "It's not my fault you bailed on me last night and Ashe actually cared for me to stay. I'm glad one of my High Commanders stuck around for me."

"Darien...." she's looking more angry now "You damn well know I care about you. You know I would do ANYTHING for you" she shouts that word.

"You don't care enough to tell me what's wrong." you groan back.

"Fine. Fine!" she admits defeat as her hands fly up in the air "You want to know why I've been distant? Huh? You want to know why I don't feel like partying, drinking and staying up all night? Well? I wanted to wait until after the war, so you didn't have to worry! But, Fine! Here goes, Darien..."

"Fucking Jealous." you slur out, interrupting her again followed by another chug of your drink "Soooo stupid..."

"Oh, fuck you Darien!" she almost growls back at you "You're acting like a child right now" her voice is yelling at you "You're drunk. You're being a fucking dick!" she glares at you "Ya know, whatever, find me tomorrow when you sober up and we can talk." she shakes her head as she starts to stand up.

"Whatever..." you fill up your goblet once more "Just leave. Not like you care anyway. Maybe I'll go find Ashe...at least she gives a shit!"

She just burns a hole into your eyes with her own, clearly annoyed with your attitude tonight. She wants to say something, but she's holding back and instead she turns towards the door and starts to walk towards it.

"Can't wait to go party with some Sunriders who actually care about me..." you yell at her backside as she opens the door, pulling her body about half way through. She stays in the crack of the door, just standing there for a brief moment. "Yeah, get out of here!" you shout as it looks like she wants to say something but only silence remains. Suddenly she takes another step out and closes the door behind her.

After a minute of just sitting there alone at the table, you abruptly stand up and shout "GOD DAMMIT!" while throwing the now half full bottle of rum hard against the mountain wall, shattering it into millions of little pieces "Fuck...Fuck! FUCK!!!!" you shout. You start pacing around your room, your mind is racing, something felt like it was telling you that you screwed up. Maybe you should chase after Lexie, go apologize, that would be the smart thing to do...right? Unfortunately, the alcohol in your brain was telling you other thoughts. Telling you that you were right and Lexie was in the wrong. "Yea...screw Lexie...I don't need her to have fun tonight..." you mumble to yourself as you finish off the goblet of rum before just tossing it to the side of your chambers, the golden goblet echoing sounds off the ground as it bounces "Yeah...back to the Tavern!" you slur out a few words as you start to exit your room.
