Sanctuaries of Respite

Temples once held sacred by the pirates who secluded themselves in the Saetra Island Chains, now just mere myths. These idyllic slices of paradise are owned by two factions. The Consorts and the Revelers.

The Consorts are a group of women who appear when Sylvese's influence can be felt in the world. They can be born within the century, or can become a Consort when the century comes around. There is only one way to tell if a woman is a Consort. And that is by the mark of Sylvese found on their lower back, which is a heart that's half shaded dark with a cloth partially wrapped around it.

Consorts are held in high regard in the Confederacy, but the modern day Confederacy also have a stigma against them. Considering their time as a civilized people, they have been growing more and more anti-criminal, and Consorts more often than not wind up as thieves, pirates, prostitutes, fraud peddlers, and so forth. So a Consort can pretty much flip a coin as to whether or not they'll be accepted within a certain community within the Confederacy.

Though, you can often find some in hidden sanctuaries throughout Confederacy territory only known to brave adventurers. These sanctuaries can give these adventurers all that they would want...food, drink, rest, and plenty, plenty of sex to reinvigorate the spirits. These sanctuaries act as temples to Sylvese who commands them to reward those who take up the life of freedom and adventure.

Although they make up the majority of caretakers in these sanctuaries, they are actually led by the other group who host the endless celebrations. And they are referred to as the Revelers.

The Revelers are a relatively unknown sect of worshipers of the old pirate gods. Their patron god is that of god of respite, celebration, and debauchery, and one of Sylvese's greatest cosmic lovers, Sanguinar. Much like how the Consorts are an all female order of Sylvese's chosen women, the Revelers are an all male group who consider themselves to be sons of Sanguinar himself. They tend to be sired by whores, temptresses, and also Consorts.

The life of a Reveler is that of debauchery and great bouts of gluttony and sloth. However, thanks to their association with Sanguinar, they are blessed to always look like the pinnacle of their age, and age with grace...thus looking almost out of time. Despite this, they can often times be very competitive with another and try and show dominance while behind closed doors in these temples. These competitions vary in what they entail, but the Consorts have no qualms in getting involved when requested.

Any guest will certainly be looked after very well if they managed to somehow find these sanctuaries. For those that do find them would be exhausted after a long day's adventure to get to it. And a hard day's work, deserves plenty of rest.
