Samantha "Sam" Arondekar (Ghosts CBS)

Samantha "Sam" Arondekar is a character portrayed by Rose McIver that appears in the American adaptation of Ghosts. She is a freelance writer and the wife of up-and-coming chef Jay. She inherits Woodstone Estate after the passing of her great-aunt Sophia. After surviving a near- accident at the estate, Sam gains the ability to see the ghostly residents.

Appearance :

Sam is a pretty woman with wavy golden-blonde shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. She dresses quite femininely and wears makeup on a day-to-day basis.

Early History :

Sam was born in Ohio and raised by her mom Sheryl as an only child. Sam attended Northwestern University after high school keeping an 4.0 GPA and despite her mom wanting a different career for her Sam chose Journalism and moved to New York City where she eventually met Jay whom she later married. Six years prior to Season 1 Sam’s mom unexpectedly died which left Sam guilt ridden as they had had a big fight at Thanksgiving which the last time she saw her mother alive.

Personality :

Jay describes his wife as someone who is very impulsive. She is also very flirty towards her husband and quite hot-tempered depending on the situation. Sam also appears to be quite superstitious when she lit a clump of sage to, "ward off any evil spirits," in Woodstone Estate.

After the accident, she begins to behave strangely due to her ability to see the ghosts. Her husband passes this off as a side-effect of her induced coma and convinces her to ignore the "ghosts." This causes her to unintentionally offend an electrician whom she mistook for another ghost (as seen in Hello!).
